Second Chance Meme!
Okay, rocks fell, everyone died. Too bad, valiant meatshippers! But the good news is that you've all be reincarnated!
...as baseline humans on modern Earth.
Maybe you're waiting at a coffee shop, and you spot someone out of the corner of your eye that looks strangely familiar. Maybe instead of strangers from universes far apart, you and your close CR are now childhood friends who have always been together. Maybe you meet a former enemy as a friend, or a former friend is now a bitter enemy.
Are you a college student? A high-powered lawyer? A kindhearted schoolteacher?
What would your life have been like had you been born under different circumstances, and you met your fellow crew once again? If you had a second chance? Would you still fall into the same habits, be a victim of the same misfortunes? or would you use the opportunity to be someone completely different?
1. Post with your character, or tag someone else.
2. Set up the scenario you want to explore!
3. ???

"I think I have to go... I s-should get something to drink before c-class anyways..."
no subject
"Class? Didn't you just say you came here to study, bon-bon? Surely you didn't show up to study for a few short minutes then be off, did you?"
no subject
"I jus' figured it'd be best if I walked for a bit is all... But... I'll... I'll stay."
no subject
"Let's walk, then. It is a nice day out, isn't it? Plenty of sunshine, only a few clouds. I bet the street vendors are already out, too."
no subject
"O-okay, jus' lemme get my stuff." With that she began packing her backpack until everything was off the table. "I'm ready."
no subject
Gliding the chair back in place with a nudge of his foot, he looked to his friend, happily chomping away on the sandwich as he waited for her to gather her things.
When she was ready, he motioned her over with a sharp nod of his head that caused the few earrings he wore to jingle. "Let's go, then. I'm eager to see if that one pet store is open, too. The had a new litter of ferrets last time I went. Not to mention that Husky. It was glorious."
no subject
"It'd be nice to go out... I haven't seen much of this area ever since I joined the school. Then again I am new after all."
no subject
There was a light breeze in the air this day, one that rustled the trees and tossed leaves throughout the street. On days like this he really regretted having cut off most of his hair. 'Very unprofessional' his mother had repeated to him time and time again.
Nokosi looked back and forth down the sidewalk at the few people who clutched at their hats protectively.
"Let's start down this way and we'll reach the strip. Can't believe I haven't brought you here, yet. There's a lot of odd characters down at this place. I spent an inordinate amount of time checking out the vendors there, sometimes."
no subject
Truth be told she was highly considering a pet... after all she was always so lonely at home. And a ferret was something she had dreamed off since she was little, thanks to the many visits to odd and fun pets websites she saw when she was younger, begging her parents for something, anything, and never being able to.

His gaze dropped down to her shorter form as they walked. "I was already surprised," and a little concerned, "when Auntie told me you haven't had a boyfriend or bothered dating. Too concerned with studies, I guess?"
He waved a hand, dismissing the thought and took a long drink of his soda. "Next time I go to see the world I'll take you with me."

A small sigh as she looked down, slowing her pace. "Even when I got here, on orientation... there was this really cute guy, really nice during the whole presentation... so... I sorta, kinda invited him to my apartment."
She gripped her bag tighter as they walked. "Turned out to be a major dirtbag. Brought a six pack and tried getting me to drink, even tho I told him many times I hate beer. When that failed, he tried getting touchy and that's when I pulled the tazer on him. Told him to g t f o before I used it on his jewels. That definitely got the message across when he left the apartment in a curse storm."
"I don't know... maybe I'm just not meant to love I guess."
no subject
It would be better if he didn't bother chastising her about it. Not just yet when she'd admitted to having such terrible luck with men.
"Maybe you should try women," he offered, more of a joke than anything. "I wouldn't say you're not meant to love, bon-bon. You're a smart girl and you know that. I think that most guys our age," more specifically her age as he already had almost a 5 year gap between them. "Are just getting into college and they let themselves get grabbed by the glamorous college life that's shown in entertainment media. Girls, drinks, partying."
He simply shrugged a shoulder and tossed his empty can into the wire trash bin. "Just don't think too hard about it, hm? Once a guy can get past his hormones then you'll be in a good place where you'll actually be able to learn something about each other beyond what's in your pants."
no subject
"Yeah... I guess you're right. There's bound to be someone eventually right?"
"And, b-besides... It's not like I'm not good lookin'... I jus' need to find someone who's not jus' in it to lay me down and take me s'all." Not that she had a single clue about what that meant aside from books and media...

He fell silent. ears focusing on the sound of their footsteps pounding against the warm, spring pavement. His hands were firmly tucked inside his pockets as he walked, eyes darting around at the different number of people moving through the streets. This place was nice, as tied down as he was here.
"So you never answered. Want to go with me the next time I set out?"

He chuckled and shook his head slightly. "I was just kidding. It would upset your balance of things too much." After a beat he spoke up again. "And do you know how fast Auntie would beat me up for trying to drag you on some world-wide 'adventure'?"
Nokosi rose his head slightly and looked towards the rows of buildings on their right. He'd hardly been paying attention but now they seemed to be coming up on their destination fairly quickly.
With a small tug he opened the door to the pet shop, internally smiling at the rush of cold air that blew out to meet him.
"G'head."

Once they were at the store, she thanks Nokosi for opening the door and stepped in eagerly, there were so many things to look and so many cute animals it was almost overwhelming for the now very happy girl.
no subject
Inside, the store was quite large. There were cages and pens lined against the walls, glass tanks and large domes filled with small birds. A cacophony of chitters, peeps, mewls and barks echoed in the large store.
A young man with dirty blond hair looked up from one of the dog pens and smiled. "Hey, Noks!" He called out, placing the animal back on the floor and heading over to the two who just entered the store.
no subject
When the man spoke however, she did a small startled jump and almost ran towards her friend... But she was now partially hiding behind him.
no subject
"Long time no see, comrade."
"Right back at'cha, Noks. For a while I thought you ran off again, man."
"No, just school. This semester just started but it's been pretty busy. Not much time for me to lounge around, much to my eternal displeasure," Nokosi replied.
"Such a slacker," the shorter man joked. He moved closer and leaned to the side, trying to catch a good look at the girl hiding behind the man. "Who's this cute thing? That your girl?"
Nokosi laughed and shook his head. "Ha! If only she were. Nah, I've been friend-zoned since before a boy realizes he should be letting girls give him cooties."
"Harsh, man. Harsh. So...that means she's single, right?" The brown-haired teen winked at Ronnae.
He only rolled his eyes and put an arm around Ronnae's shoulder, pulling her to the side of him. "This is Trent, Ronnae. His grandparents own the store."
no subject
That was until her friend pulled her over, making her look downright embarrassed and timid and surprised,
"N-nice to meet you... " Was about all she could get out without going into her usual stutter storm.
no subject
"You know what it always is for me. Unfortunately just looking at the desperate faces in the store. The animals look pretty sad, too," he joked, patting the shorter man on the shoulder.
"That was bad and you should feel bad," Trent retorted. "Well you know the deal; go ahead and look around. Let me know if I can help you with anything. Especially you, miss," he finished with a wink.

She'd follow Nokosi closely, wanting to see everything there was at the store... She did have some money saved up... Maybe... just maybe she'd be able to get something.
