Oh the weather outside is frightful...
The situation: It is dreadfully cold. Think 'ice cave where all those slash fics are set'.
The goal: Keep each other warm tonight!
☀ STEP ONE: Comment with your characters. One comment for each character.
☀ STEP TWO: Other people reply to your characters.
☀ STEP THREE: Both participants are aware that they should/must keep nice and warm. To do that, you need to bundle up nice and closely, however grudgingly. No, killing your threadmate and cuddling the body doesn't count.
☀ STEP FOUR: Keep 'em warm! Hot cocoa, hot coffee, hot tea, hot mustard, or other suitably warming beverages will be provided if you cooperate.
☀ STEP FIVE: Lulz ensue!
((Basically just a winter-themed cuddle meme, with evil ideas from Shae and Col. Add some cuddle urges in the air if your characters won't otherwise cooperate but you want them to.))

"Thanks. I miss my brother, honestly, but with you and Billy and Renne, I can at least deal with him being gone.I know he'd want someone to look after me if he couldn't."
no subject
Ye know we'll look after ye however we can, Katara. Hey...do ye think we should try and get out of here now that we're a wee bit warmer?
no subject
If only she were a firebender. They would have been out of here awhile ago.

[It'll be a bit of a slow go, but hopefully they can find a way out. He takes one more drink from the cocoa, and offers the last bit to Katara.]
Here, ye finish it. It'll help. And with luck we'll be out soon. Or at least find some firewood so we can make a fire.
no subject
"You've lived off the land with the doctor, or do you just have experience with this kind of thing?"
She brushed a bit of snow away with a wave of her hands.
no subject
But I've had to do so back home in Scotland. When we were going to war, sometimes ye would wind up sleeping under the stars, and hunting your dinner. It was never as cold as all this, though.
no subject
She nodded here. "That sounds familiar, actually. We were on the run from the fire nation all the time, so it was sort of important we all helped each other out, with setting camp and finding a place to sleep and food to eat. The only time it was this cold, though, was when we went to the Northern water Tribe, and even then we had warm coats and were welcomed there."
no subject
[Jamie rather suspects it's more to do with the Time Lords and the Doctor not wanting them to know where he is, but it could very well be either.]
Aye, well, unless the cave wants to give us warm coats, too, I think we're stuck with the blanket. Hey, let's try this corridor.
[He steers them down a promising looking passage.]
So why did ye wind up going so far North, then?
no subject
She nodded and followed him down. The question he asked was easily answerable though.
"It was before I became a master. I told you that I was the last waterbender in the Southern Pole, so it made sense to find one in the North. That was when I went to see Master Pakku. He didn't want to teach me at first: it wasn't tradition for a woman to use waterbending as fighting, just healing. I wanted to fight, he was stubborn, so we had a fight of our own. I lost of course, but i was able to show him I was serious, and after realizing I was the grandaughter of the love of his life, he conceded. As it turned out, I became one of the quickest to advance in his class."
She looked rather proud of that, too. Who wouldn't?
no subject
He waits a few seconds, then gives her a crooked grin, and says more seriously, "Although I can picture ye insisting on getting that training. How'd he find out that your grandmother was the love of his life, though?"
No she isn't sad,the icon just has that pendant in it.
But to answer his question, Katara went straight to her neck and showed him the choker she always wore. "See this? It was something I always wore to remember my mom. Gran gran gave it to her. It was actually the betrothal necklace Master Pakku made for her. She may have been able to leave him then, but she couldn't part with this."
no subject
[Neither of which seems to include an ice cave with no exit. They've been wandering for awhile, haven't they? And, now that Jamie looks around, he realizes he's not entirely sure where they are - or even how they can get back to where they were.]
Er, Katara? I think we're lost.
no subject
"I've worn it ever since she left us. It was the last things if hers that I had. I just didn't know it had been gran gran's first, or that it was a necklace of betrothal in the first place. But after that, Master Pakku agreed to teach me. I could see in his eyes that she'd meant a lot to him."
She paused, and blinked. "Um...I think you're right. Maybe we should double back from where we started?"
no subject
[He points to what appears to be an smooth, unbroken ice wall.] There was a passage there a moment ago, aye? I think the cave doesn't like our moving around like this.
no subject
"Let's keep going, and I'll melt the walls and lead a path with the water, so we don't lose our way."
no subject
After ye, then.
no subject
"Wow," she mused. "This place reminds me a little of the North Pole."
no subject
Why would ye say that? Because of all the ice and the cold?
no subject
"Well, no. I mean yes, its cold and ice and what not, but6 it also had a beauty all its own. The Northern water tribe had actually been able to handle attacks by the fire nation due to its location and their resourcefulness, while the Southern Water tribe was weathered down pretty badly by fire nation attacks. So looking at all of this natural beauty, it reminds me of the North pole all over again."
no subject
If it's all the same to ye, though, I'd rather not stick around to take in the view. How much further do ye think it is?
no subject
"Honestly, I don't know. Let's keep going though: its starting to get cold again."
no subject
Katara! Katara! Do ye feel that? There's air coming from somewhere!
no subject
"Yeah, I feel it too!"
She closed her eyes, getting the mental picture of the ice around her and brought her hands towards her chest. It would take chi for this, but Katara WAS getting better. The ice started to shudder, and then fell to water at their feet. Katara exhaled sharply, opening her eyes.
"That way!"
no subject
Daylight! That must be the way out. Come on!!
no subject
Where they were now, at least, was a bit brighter an quite a sight (http://www.dylancolestudio.com/Matte/Superman/images/LF_047_033_MPsketch_v02.jpg) to see. Katara was sure she had never seen a place like this before although, comically, there was also a sign right outside the lair: The Way Out.
Katara looked at Jamie. "Um, have you ever seen anything like this before?"
