Don't look now, Nate! There's a girl in a bikini running up to you!

On second thought, look Nate. Look a lot. Just don't mention the tiny scar on her sternum, Cassie would hate that.

"Nathaniel!" Cassie grinned and waved.

He looks alright. He looks a lot a lot. Thankfully, his sunglasses are very dark, so you can't tell whether he's just reading his book or not.

She gets a small smile and a wave back. "Hey. How's it going?"

"Great. I haven't been to the beach in ages." Long enough that the pale blonde forgot to put her sunscreen on. She'd find that out later. "What are you reading?"

"This is my first time. ALl the beaches were built over when I'm from. Most of them were VR sims." He hasn't noticed either, and he's not going to be much help with that, is he?

He holds up the book. "The Once And Future King."

...Built over the beaches? Why in the world would they... oh well.

"That's some light reading there. You wouldn't rather be out in the water? Especially if you've never actually been to a real beach."

Well, the world is going to hell now as it is. Imagine it a thousand years later.

"It helps me think." He lowers the book for a moment, looking out over the water. "I suppose. Why aren't you out there?"

"I'm going to be soon. I wanted to see if I could get you to join me first." She smiled. "You can go back to reading that book whenever but a real beach? Now that's something special."

Another pause and he places his bookmark and shuts his book, setting it down. "The water sounds alright. But first...you'll have to catch me!"

And there he goes, Cassie. That boy got some legs on him.

Some very nice legs. And that ass...

Well, she didn't have too much time to appreciate it as she had to chase after him. "Oh, you better hope I don't catch you!" Actually he probably should.

She should probably be glad he's not a mind reader.

And he's fast too. Though she seems to be catching up? Maybe. Is he slowing down? Noooo, he wouldn't do that. "You won't with that pathetic speed!"

"I'll show you pathetic!" She put on an extra burst of speed and reached out to grab him. Just a bit farther...

And he's just a hand's length away by now. Come on Cassie you can grab him. Come on, just a liiiiiittle more.

Grabbing? How about tackling to the ground. "Gotcha!"

"Waugh!" He just manages to turn as they collide, stopping himself from going to ground facefirst. But the problem with that, is that Cassie is now on top of him.

A pause. "...Uhm...hey."

On top of him and practically naked.

Cassie really should have thought her brilliant plan through.

"Uh... hi." She should get up, you know, any time now. Really.

Why weren't her muscles moving?

Yeah. They both should probably have thought it through.

He should probably help her up, right? So... why wasn't he getting up? Oh yeah, she was on top of him.

"Uh...you wanna, uhm... get in the water?"

"Water. Yeah." Move girl, move.

And finally her muscles responded and she rolled off of Nate and onto her feet. She held out a hand for him to take if he wanted help up.

"Yeah.."

He took her hand to help himself up, dusting himself off a little. Sand. Ugh, it got everywhere. He looked out at the water. Hey, was that a rock way out there? "How good are you at swimming?"

Better than I am at tackling.

"Pretty good. Don't tell me I have to swim after you this time." Although at least that wouldn't end in groping.

Possibly.

He laughs, completely forgetting the awkwardness of five seconds ago. "Think you could even keep up? I'm aiming for that boulder island thing over there."

And to be fair, he wasn't groping ~~much~~ earlier.

"Don't worry, I'll go easy on you." She didn't wait for a response before diving into the water. Turnabout was fair play.

"Wha- Hey!" He dove cleanly into the water and stroked quickly to try and catch up, that was so unfair.

Cassie tried not to laugh because that would only get seawater in her lungs. She did slow down enough for Nate to catch up, well mostly catch up, she couldn't just give away all of her advantage but he had a good chance now.

He pushed harder trying to catch up. He was abreast with her legs now. Just a bit further and they'd be on level. Go Iron Lad!

Cassie slowed down just a little, not enough to be too noticeable or to look deliberate.
