It's not hugging. It's just the armor sitting on top on you. Kinda hard to avoid when you're wearing it.

My plan is to bypass the "whatever we find" problem by avoiding finding anything.

I have this feeling that a life or death situation would work. What if not helping meant you would die?

That only worked because most of the people in the canyon were morons, not actual threats. Besides, luck doesn't last forever.
