10 Things You Didn't Know

That's it. It's Sunday, I'm bored, it's time for a meme that I stole from [livejournal.com profile] xi_rpg.

RULES
1. Post with your character

3. Watch as others do the same; comment IC or OoC!
4. ???
5. PROFIT!

I did this one the first time (I swear we did it before but I can't find the post in this comm) but let's try it again and see if I can come up with different ones!

1. Billy loves theatre. He hasn't tried much acting himself, but he worked as the director of Angel Grove High's school plays. The performances and the costumes appeal to him---the chance for people to assume new identities and expose new aspects of their personalities.

2. He spent much of his childhood with the rest of the first Ranger team trying to fit in with them by sharing in their hobbies, because he was told that inventing things in the garage 'isn't a real hobby' and that he was wasting his life away. He tried volleyball lessons with Trini, karate lessons with Jason, guitar and gymnastics lessons with Kimberly, and dance lessons with Zack. At various points during the series he displays all those talents in small doses.

3. Billy is a big-time approval seeker. He likes doing things for the benefit and entertainment of others, whether it's an impressive science project, homework help, or a brilliant solution to a problem in battle. When he fails to live up to his own standards, he fears everyone will reject him.

4. Upon receiving his powers, Billy's first two applications of Ranger technology were to invent a communication/teleportation device and a flying car. Later, he also tried to expand the application of morphing technology to other uses by making a rubber chicken 'morph' into a Power Eagle.

5. Billy filled his foreign language requirement at Angel Grove High with a Latin correspondence course, because no teacher in Angel Grove knows Latin. He was drawn to the language by its importance to the history of science.

6. Related to the above, as a small child he owned a stuffed blue wolf named Lupus that he confided in and cuddled. He grew exasperated explaining to adult after adult that he named him after the Latin word for wolf, not the disease. Lupus sat on Billy's dresser right up until the day that the Ohm destroyed Angel Grove.

7. Billy seems to have trouble holding onto a relationship. He's had four different love interests in one year, and two of them in the span of three weeks, but none of them remained interested in him longer than a week. Ranger duties and secrets tend to kill any chance of love with outsiders. He's been kissed on the cheek once, but nothing further than that.

8. He learns best from instruction manuals. Give him a diagram of martial arts moves or a detailed football rulebook and he can play any game the more athletic members of the team can play.

9. Why was Billy, a reclusive nerd, in such good shape when the Rangers started fighting? Simple: he gained all that muscle and flexibility from running from bullies, from extra sports practice sessions in an attempt to avoid dragging the team down and being laughed at in gym class, and from pulling himself out of trash cans.

10. Billy hates having his ears tweaked. Seriously, don't do it. It's a sensitive spot.

1. 123 years old.
2. Named for her grandmother, who was the originator of the folklore creature known as the Satori (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satori_%28folklore%29).
3. Has over a hundred pets, and never gets any of them confused with each other.
4. One of her pets tried to destroy the world that one time.
5. She has a younger sister, who is more powerful, creepier, and nicer than she is. Her sister is one of the only flesh-and-blood people whose mind she cannot read.
6. Has never, technically, been outdoors in the sunlight.
7. 5'1" I'm running out of ideas.
8. Has never loved, mostly due to being avoided by almost everybody forever due to being creepy.
9. Favorite food is Okonomiyaki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Okonomiyaki).
10. She likes reading books on psychology, because she feels like she has an advantage int he field.

[identity profile] madebymagic.livejournal.com 2009-12-06 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Billy has two younger brothers, who just so happen to be twins.
2. His mother is a therapist.
3. Teddy isn't his first boyfriend, but is his first public one.
4. Billy had a crush on more than one member of his team.
5. He's terrified of zombies.
6. His favorite Avenger of all time is the Scarlet Witch. Who just so happens to be his mother.
7. Billy's terrified that the other mutants will see him as a danger, and thus shun him. This is why he has never gone to see them.
8. He has never been approached by Xavier, or anyone from the X-Men to join the school when his powers appeared. Because he didn't want them to come. (He used his powers)
9. His favorite movie is A New Hope.
10. He still has nightmares about his stay in 42.

INDIGO

[identity profile] indigoblueberry.livejournal.com 2009-12-06 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Arsenal picked out her costume.

2. When she talks to people, she's got an odd habit of just not moving. Like, she'll put her hands on her hips and stay like that until she picks another pose. She isn't in a constant state of motion like humans are.

3. When she's alone and bored, she'll try to figure out new phrases to pepper her speech with. It doesn't always end well.

4. She scans, like. Everyone she meets. If she's talking to you, you're getting scanned.

5. Indigo enjoys going to dance clubs. Club dances are the only ones she's ever actually tried, though she technically knows some more.

6. She's never had normal sex. Shift tended to come apart during it, so she's only used to having freaky elemental shapeshifter sex.

7. Indigo enjoys old silent films and jazz/blues music more than most other forms of entertainment, and sometimes wishes that she could go back in time to see them when they first came out.

8. She very rarely experiences the negative side of emotions, and it freezes her up a bit. She doesn't know how to handle them, so she tries to bottle it up inside. It doesn't always end up well.

9. Indigo has problems meeting new people. When she was in her home universe, the only people she had prolonged contact with were the Outsiders, and a group of people that she went bowling with and did laundry for.

10. The only members of the Outsiders she really considered to be friends were Jade, Thunder, and Shift. Arsenal and Nightwing treated her like a tool, she wasn't fond of Jade, and she never really got to know Starfire that well.

Well-- okay I guess. Most of this is headcanon since he's a bit-part character, sob.

1) See that hat he wears? His mother knitted it for him. As for why it's so ridiculous-looking...
2) She got sick (probably from her husband's alchemy work) and died before it could be finished. Fletcher was four at the time. He carried it around for years until he'd grown enough to fit it.
3) He went through a phase when he was seven where he pretended to be able to talk to plants. He had his brother Russel fooled for about two days.
4) Russel and Fletcher have a semi-regular routine where Russel will put his head on Fletcher's head and comment, "You've grown." And Fletcher's response is, "Watch out, I'm gaining on you!"
5) He secretly yearns to be at least half a foot taller than Russel when he's grown up.
6) When Alphonse (spoilers) de-aged and lost his memory at the end of the series, Fletcher cried. A lot.
7) Is an atheist. Like probably most alchemists, actually.
8) Birthday is April 10.
9) Fletcher climbs trees like nobody's business. Don't even challenge him to a tree-climbing race because you will lose.
10) Has not had formal schooling in upwards of two years, but still knows more science than most of the adults in his village.

1. Steve is something of a gearhead. He can pilot a plane, drive most small motorized vehicles (including motorcycles) and knows very basic mechanics. His bedroom is plastered with posters from all his mechanics magazines (and some bikini babes.)
2. He was a fairly good student at school, getting mostly As and Bs except for in English and social studies, which he doesn't like. His favorite subjects were math, science and tech ed.
3. He had braces on up until the spring of his junior year of high school.
4. His favorite foods are any dishes made with potatoes or cheese, and plenty of them.
5. Steve played baseball for his high school team.
6. Medical settings like laboratories, hospitals or even clinics make him extremely uncomfortable after his stay on Rockfort (and the incident in Antarctica.) He's straight up frightened of needles.
7. He wasn't always such a little sullen jerk. Prior to being kidnapped by Umbrella, Steve was actually very sociable and had plenty of friends. You can still catch little snippets of this side of him if he's relaxed and comfortable around you.
8. He's the first redhead in the Burnside family since his grandfather, though otherwise he gets his looks from his mother's side of the family.
9. Since contracting T-Veronica, Steve's body temperature is a few degrees higher than normal-- if you touch him, it always feels like he's running a fever.
10. His full name is Steven and his middle name is Paul. He doesn't particularly like either of them.

[identity profile] gogopowersuit.livejournal.com 2009-12-07 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
1. She has kind of an odd diet. She doesn't eat any poultry or fowl. She rarely eats meat at all, and when she does it's usually some sort of fish. She has a lot of odd tastes after being raised by the Chozo. Between that and living off tasteless space food for years, she doesn't actually mind eating slop.

2. The Aran family was in a bit of a bind after Samus' birth. Her parents were expecting a boy. They would raise him to be a nice, strapping young man and take over his father's mining business. They would name him Seamus. After she was born, they apparently thought dropping one letter would make it into a girl's name.

3. She occasionally has to fight of the urge to start nesting.

4. She is a tall woman at 6'3" and weighs in at 198 lbs. This seems like a lot until you remember that she can probably bench press a car.

5. She practices Chozo meditation exercises. They calm her and help her keep focused in times of extreme danger. In non combat situations, she practices some type of Chozo yoga which may or may not seem impossible for normal human beings to bend into (but Samus can roll into a ball)

6. This guy (http://metroid.wikia.com/wiki/Houston) has a crush on Samus and will ask her out periodically. She always says no.

7. As it turns out, Chozo blood gives you an incredibly high alcohol tolerance. Samus makes use of this.

8. Everyday she feels the guilt of those she has let die. She feels like she's failed the task the Chozo trusted her with and feels awful because of it. But she's never let anyone see her mourn.

9. She's got one father and three more "Dads," Old Bird, Gray Voice, and Adam Malkovich

10. She loves the rain.

Hi, I have an app in. :D

1. He has four children, two males and two females.

2. He sent an assassin after the dwarf that told the Dark Knights about the female eggs.

3. He prefers venison over beef and other meats.

4. He can speak a few words of Draconic and Solamnic.

5. The one time he was captured by the Solamnic knights, he was almost killed by 'friendly fire,' aka a red dragon on his side that didn't care if the prisoners died as well as the captors.

6. He never learned how to cook beyond just roasting meat.

7. By the time he was two, he'd already reached adult stature and at three, he was an officer in the military.

8. He doesn't like sweet things, like candy or chocolate.

9. He once broke his wing on the way back from a raid on Celebundin.

10. He has no sisters, and has no idea which, if any, of the other bozak males are his brothers.

[note: Beka comes from the second book in the Provost's Dog series, this book is less than a year old, and some facts may include spoilers.]

o1. Beka is what is commonly called a police officer [for her, the term is guardsman/woman] however, it is during the early stages for the development of such. Because of this, bribes and the like are not frowned upon, but are part of her pay-checks.

o2. She grew up on the slums of the city, and was rescued from this life at the age of eight, (already though, she was learning the basics of filching) And entered training when she was fifteen.

o3. Police officers/guardsmen are called 'dogs' and because of this, her nick-name on the force is 'Terrier' as while she was still a trainee, she brought down one of the largest slum lords of the city. (who, in the same vein, was the father-in-law of one of her best friends.)

o4. She has a pet cat named Pounce, who in reality, is a constellation called 'The Cat' and Pounce contains the ability to speak, though most of the time, people do not understand him.

o5. She has bad luck when it comes to partners. The first dies in the summer of an epidemic, the red flux. Beka arrests her second partner because he took a bribe to ignore murder. Beka's third partner can't let his hands off her and so she tells him she would "lop his hands off if he put them on her again". He believes her and apparently requests another partner. So Beka is with her fourth partner by September of 247 HE. Her latest partner, Silsbee, thinks of her as being too eager for him and he, too, requests another partner and is subsequently transferred.

o6. She has the ability to listen to the voices of the dead, who ride on the backs of pigeons on their way to the realms of the dead. On rare circumstances, she is even able to communicate with them. [this is a trait she shares with her father and his side of the family]

o7. Her decedent, George Cooper, grows to become the King of Thieves.

o8. She wears, at all times, a bracelet of opals given to her by a gambler of the name Dale Rowan. During an investigation of false coin, it was believed he was involved, so she entered a relationship with him, to gain further information. [Work comes first for her]

o9. She chose to work in the lower city, in lieu of a more 'posh' position.

1o. Beka suffers from crippling shyness, especially when addresing those of higher rank and nobility. This does not appear to affect her while on duty, or in certain social situations (she enjoys dancing most of all, as it does not require talking to your partner.)

HI THIS IS LIKE 95% HEADCANON SRY
1. Birthday is September 7; currently eighteen years old.
2. Has a pathological aversion to tomato soup whose origins he will not willingly divulge to anyone.
3. Favorite color is blue.
4. Is conversant in Swedish.
5. Keeps girlie mags stashed in a storage compartment in his Zoid's cockpit.
6. Dad was critically injured in a Zoid crash when Jamie was five. Jamie doesn't like to talk about it, partially because he has only fragmented memories of this period of time.
7. Used to have a split personality who eventually got his own body. They hated each other's guts.
8. Apparently has a ridiculously high tolerance for alcohol.
9. Misses his friends and family more than he will probably ever tell anyone, but copes by trying not to think about the fact that they're gone.
10. Back on the island, had a cat who helped him fold laundry. He called her Reno.

[identity profile] madeofwyn.livejournal.com 2009-12-07 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
1. Wyn's not a bad driver, but she tends to ignore 'useless' things like, say, the speed limit and traffic lights. She'll always get to her destination in one piece, though.
1b. This is what happens when the person who teaches you to drive is more focused on teaching you how to lose a tail than on how to make a three-point turn.
1c. She is also not officially licensed.

2. She's very, very distantly related to the Celtic folk hero Cúchulainn.

3. She was the only non-powered person in St Andrews' sorcery department.
3b. This hasn't stopped her from kicking ass and taking names. Her favorite non-required class? Combat sorcery.

4. She's never had a pet.

5. She likes to give people nicknames, but she hates being nicknamed. Hypocritical? Yes indeedy.

6. She is very good at running in heels.

7. She's been involved with student theater quite a bit, and has probably done every backstage job possible. (She's never actually been onstage, though.)

8. She speaks both Irish and English fluently, and had Latin drilled into her brain by a series of nuns.

9. She's Catholic, but she's not exactly devout. In fact, she's pretty much the opposite of devout.

10. Wyn hasn't had the best of luck with boyfriends. The guy she was in love with before the whole destruction-of-the-universe thing was a bit oblivious, although he was in love with her too. The boyfriend before that proved to be a cheating and unapologetic doucherocket. The ones prior to that were high-school relationships with high-school drama, and she claims they didn't really count.
10b. That flannel shirt that she never takes off? Belonged to the guy she was in love with.

1. He was a sergeant in a war, in charge of commanding 4000 soldiers because all other authorities were dead.

2. His war-time experiences caused him to stop believing in the existence of higher powers.

3. He grew up on a ranch where he was raised by his mother and roughly 400 other ranch hands.

4. He got married unknowingly to a woman named Saffron when he participated in a rustic ceremony.

5. Mal's crew represents various facets of himself that he's lost over time. And even though he'd be hard pressed to openly admit it, he needs them around just as much as they need him.

6. He has an intolerance for unfair treatment of people, choosing to believe that everyone has the right to be treated humanely and with respect.

7. Mal has a special relationship with one of his crew members, Kaylee. When around her, he acts like a cross between a father and older brother.

8. Mal might possibly be in love with one of his other crew members, Inara Serra, but both of them seem to be against admitting to what, if anything, they feel about each other, even though some of their actions show some level of attraction.

9. One of the most significant events in Mal's life resulted in him regaining some of his lost fighting spirit. He became angered with the Alliance to the point that he decided he wasn't going to run anymore, but do what he could to stop them from causing more harm to others.

10. Mal is something of a smooth talker, though his "abilities" get him in trouble as much as they get him out of it.

1. Terry made a remote control for the Batmobile that he normally keeps hooked on his civilian-clothes belt. He is never without it, in case of emergency. He tells people that it's a pager.

2. History is the only subject he constantly gets passing grades in. He cannot, for the life of him, remember who the 43rd President is, though.

3. He actually really likes kids, and wants to one day settle down, get married, and have some of his own.

4. His motorcycle was a gift from his father for his 16th birthday. He keeps it in great condition, as a way of holding onto the memory of his father.

5. He's actually a pretty good dancer, which is why he lets Dana drag him to clubs all the time.

6. Terry doesn't really like dogs at all, for no reason he can explain. He just doesn't like them. Ace is the only dog he's ever gotten close to, and he considers him to be 'his' dog, just as much as it is Bruce's.

7. Though it may seem like he would lack the skills for it, Terry is actually very good at manual lock-picking and getting around security systems. He's not very proud of his skill, though.

8. Growing up, he ran away from home a lot. He usually wound up in subway stations, and would think about getting on one, but never had any money for a ticket and had to go back home.

9. He won't admit it, but he's incredibly loyal to Bruce, and would do almost anything to protect him. He also considers him to be a sort of replacement father figure.

10. He has never experimented with drugs or gotten drunk in his life (forcibly being spliced not withstanding). However, because of his reputation as a former gang member, no one at school really believes him when he says this.
staturity: (Default)

[personal profile] staturity 2009-12-07 06:02 am (UTC)(link)
1. Cassie never had any contact with her mother from the time she was 3 until the time she turned 13. Her mother showed up out of nowhere to contest custody with her father and won, despite having abandoned her daughter.

2. Cassie's father's first act as a super hero was to save her life. He rescued the only doctor who could perform a surgery on Cassie's heart. After months spent in the hospital dying, Cassie went through the surgery and returned to being a happy, healthy child.

3. Cassie found out about her father's super hero identity shortly after he became a hero. At almost the same time she started stealing some of his pym particles and using them on herself. The repeated self exposures are the reason she can now change size.

4. Contrary to all the OOC joking, Cassie doesn't have a thing for metal. In fact, Cassie didn't like the fact that Kristoff (her first almost boyfriend) worse a metal suit and was scared of it. She does, however, have a thing for science and guys in Marvel who like science usually either wear suits or are androids.

5. Her mother and step-father are physically abusive. She's never had any broken bones or serious injuries but in the interactions we see in canon, her mother slaps her and her step-father grabs her by the arm but she escapes from his grasp before he does anything more. Cassie doesn't realize that this isn't normal. She thinks this is how it is in most families. She thinks it was her close bond with her father that's abnormal instead of the abusive relationship with her mother and step-father.

6. She has serious parent issues. She lost her father, who meant everything to her, twice. First when her mother won custody, then when her father died. Iron Man, who she used to call "Uncle Tony" forgot about her along with the rest of the Avengers but she desperately wanted to feel accepted by someone. This lead to her switching sides during the Civil War, because she'd always felt closer to Stark. She thought he cared about her. Instead she ended up being kidnapped and no one went looking for her. When someone finally did rescue her it was Ms. Marvel, who had come there not because of Cassie but because of her sidekick Anya. So basically, Cassie can't help but feel like no one cares about her. But this feeling is too painful to admit and she suppresses it so she uses lots of denial and cognitive dissonance as coping methods.

7. Her cooking is atrocious and it was a running joke in the comics, with her cooking stuff like asparagus pudding. The thing is? She actually likes it.

8. Cassie's never realized that it's more than a little silly that she "fell in love" with Nathaniel Richards in the course of a few hours. It's such an intense feeling that she's never bothered to ask if there were any other reasons she might have felt that way like, say, a combination of huge adrenaline surge and hormones.

9. She is really good with computers. She's had no actual training but she's shut down a machine that absorbed her body using just her mind and knowing nothing about how it operated. She also managed to pull up the schematics of some secret location just by "playing around" on one of the computers of Oracle Inc. That's talent.

10. Cassie's a geek. She plays a lot of games, and is very good at the shooting ones. Her favorite games are Science Fiction but she does play some fantasy games.

Brainy's facts are Slightly Depressing Yo 1/?

[identity profile] cabbage-butt.livejournal.com 2009-12-07 06:43 am (UTC)(link)
1. His first kiss ever was with Brenda on the ship. Ever. The first time he ever let anyone shake his hand was when RJ Brande shook it when meeting him when he was eleven. (Brande was the first person he met that was remotely friendly towards him. Usually when someone held out their hand to shake Brainy's, he'd just ignore it, but there was just...something about Brande that made it so Brainy didn't mind). Barring when he was held the day he was born by his mother (before she abandoned him), the first real hug he ever got he got from Spark, when he was 15-years-old, after the two had bonded a little. He didn't hug her back.

2. He was raised by robots (ones with rudimentary AIs with no personality, that tended to talk like "BEEP, IT IS TIME TO INTAKE NOURISHMENT"), in a section eked out for him in the Colugov Lab Complexes and most days, he didn't even see another living being. He would have a list of tasks to complete and once they were finished (child's play), he'd work on his own projects. Eventually, he'd sleep and share his knowledge with the SleepNet, only to wake up the next day to start it all over again. Rinse. Repeat. The two politicians that were his guardians, Council Members Dak Lix and Erz Pak, would maybe stop by to berate him once a month for violating safety protocols, among other things. Brainy is used to living his entire life by routine, which is why he hates having lab time interrupted and doesn't like spontaneity.

3. Brainy's body movements are fluid, but very very precise, and he has excellent reflexes and coordination, largely because his brain can process things so quickly, and since he can dedicate one track of consciousness to the task of consciously guiding body movement. He's a little stiff, but he can be pretty graceful if he tries. I see him as moving a bit like Abe Sapien from Hellboy, just a little more stiffly.

4. When he was a baby, it took him about two weeks to figure out that crying wouldn't bring anyone to comfort him, so...he just stopped. However, whenever he cried, if he wasn't hungry, didn't need a diaper change, or any of that, his carebots would bring a warm blanket to wrap him up in and set his crib to rock, so whenever he was feeling particularly in need of comfort, he'd fake cry to make them bring the warm blanket, squirm out of being wrapped up in it, and then would pretty much full-body cuddle the thing to compensate for all the missed contact comfort. After they decided he was too old for comfort objects, at age 1 and a half, he broke most of his toys in a temper tantrum.

5. His first friend was an AI, a program he created to be a playmate for himself. As the program was named DOX_00021 as the default, and Dox himself liked having his friend's last name, Brainy simply called him Dox. Dox was the only playmate Brainy ever had, and the only person pretty much in the universe that ever got him to play. He would do fun little puzzle games and logic problems with him and occasionally logic-based imagination games. Dox made Querl laugh for the first time when he was 2.

But then his two guardians confiscated Dox to sell him, and partially as a way of subtly punishing Brainy for having fun when he was supposed to be working. Yet again, Brainy smashed all his things in a temper tantrum.

1) Looks 16, is 50 years older than that
2) His best friend was Maria Robotnik, niece to Professor Gerald Robotnik, making Maria Eggman's cousin.
3) Was created as the means to cure Maria's NIDS disease (which, apparently, is something like AIDS. That, I need to relook up)
4) He isn't the only Ultimate Lifeform. The other is Biolizard, a massive lizard that was held in stasis after Shadow was created.
5) The bracers on his gloves? Regulate his powers.
6) It is rumored that, because Sonic removed one of Shadow's bracers during his fall at the end of SA2, that Shadow survived.
7) Despite no training, he knows how to drive AND use a gun.
8) Attempted to kill himself and destroy the machine Emerl because he felt that, as weapons, they needed to be put down.
9) Still doesn't like humans, but is starting to warm up to them, especially after joining the Outsiders
10) He still thinks Sonic's a faker.

1: Despite all appearances, she's not actually all that slutty. She likes sex, and does what she must for her duties but she definitely has standards and won't just jump on top of whatever throbs.
2: Has unresolved egotism from her time as a child messiah. Knows this.
3: Her favorite thing to do when she has long stretches alone is sculpting. Painting is a close second.
4: She's a bit of a prankster. She sets some of the other Sisters against each other on Chapterhouse, just to see what would happen.
5: Conversely, she's actually good at peacekeeping and getting people to make up. She just doesn't do it when she doesn't have to.
7: Will never admit to anyone how intensely she misses baklawa (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baklava)
8: She has an intense interest in humans in states of trance and/or ecstasy. Yes, this includes sex, but it can also be riots, religious rituals, wild dancing, siaynoq (which is all three of those things), etc.
9: She keeps her feelings for Duncan in a little mental jar labeled "to examine later".
10: Has the sneaking suspicion that her life on the meatship is reliving all her previous choices in a twisted way.

1; Claire is a motorcycle fanatic, and a bit of a speed demon. She's also a relatively skilled amateur mechanic.

2; Her major in school before the Raccoon City incident was Early Childhood Education. She wanted to be a kindergarten teacher.

3; Claire does genuinely want to settle down someday. Probably not in the traditional aspect of "settling down" but she wants to start a family, she's just never been able to find the right person to start one with.

4; Raccoon has followed her throughout her adult life. It changed a lot of the things she'd planned ahead of her, some for better some for worse. She avoids using her status as a Raccoon City Survivor whenever she can, because she hates the kind of looks it gets her.

5; She's skilled at lockpicking. She's always been the type if person who liked sneaking in where she shouldn't be, and she liked exploring old abandoned houses. Learning how to pick a lock was a step up from kicking in the door. It's a skill that comes in handy far more often than she'd like to admit.

6; Claire can't honestly say she's ever been in love. She's had a total of six boyfriends throughout her teenage and adult life (seven now, counting Leon), all of which she liked very much, but she always felt like there was something missing.

7; She considered leaving TerraSave after she found out about the vaccine she had indirectly been hindering the production of. She likely would have, and joined the BSAA, but she was abducted by Stacy first.

8; She's a fan of horror movies, despite what she's been through. Mostly the old classics, but she'll go see the new ones, too. Even ones with zombies.

9; Despite the fact that she's only about 5'9" and 145lbs Claire is deceptively strong and more than capable of taking down someone twice her size. She has taken defensive classes, in addition to her crazy overprotective brother teaching her things ranging from how to shoot a gun (and she is a damn good shot) to throwing a knife.

10; Claire wishes she was more like her mother. While she is a very maternal person, she feels like her mom did it so much better, and sometimes she feels a little lost when it comes to being Sherry's mom.

1: Sometimes she wonders if Sherry and Roxie aren't an alternate universe Kumi and Kasumi
2: Her relationship with Red Snout has gone exactly back to how it was before, only now it's worse because Red Snout's terrifying her in order to "toughen her up". Nothing is worse than someone who thinks they have a good motivation.
3: She may seem rather immature in comparison to the other girls her age. This is a semiconscious choice by her. Ever since she joined the Alien Party, she was forced into trying to be more grownup, at an artificial pace. Saying "no, i'm a human kid and this is the rate human kids grow up" is an act of rebellion.
4: She's unsure of her feelings about being "the sweet one" of the group. Yeah it's nice to have people like you, but she wonders if it's preventing people from seeing how great Roxie and (to a lesser extent) Sherry and Vega are.
5: Cowardly in face of personal danger, she will rollerblade into hell itself to protect her friends.
6: She's more used to aliens and other gross things than most kids. A little more than Sherry at this point.
7: She has her suspicions about the real purpose of the Alien Party but has no way to investigate. Borg ain't talking.
8: Yeah, she has big ears.
9: Is not, and never will be, someone who blooms into grace. Come puberty, she will be just as awkward, but taller.
10: Due to events of her canon mirroring those of magical girl and -mons shows, has become dangerously genre savvy. That doesn't stop her from getting her image of romance from shoujo manga.
11: ...Which, when combined with her enjoyment of playing matchmaker, tends to result in things like triplines to force people to trip into each other

Mostly head canon.

I. Written out in Japanese Kanji, her name is 惣流・アスカ・ラングレー. Both her middle and last names (Langley and Soryu, respectively) are the names of World War II aircraft carriers. It may be worth noting that both carriers were sunk in combat. In Japanese, Soryu means "blue dragon". Her first name, Asuka, is written with the Japanese characters for "tomorrow", as well as "smell, incense, perfume". It roughly translates to "Smell of Tomorrow". As an interesting side note, the first part of her mother's name, "Kyo" (from "Kyoko") translates to "today".

II. Asuka is an avid video game player. Most of her gaming takes place on consoles and like most things, she's rather good at them. Her favorite genres include racing games, JRPGs, First Person Shooters, and aircraft simulators.

III. Asuka graduated from the Technical University of Munich at the age of thirteen with a bachelor's degree. Her major was in Physics, with a minor in Mechanical Engineering.

IV. Asuka is a fan of football (European) and followed the German Football Association, rooting for and supporting FC Bayern Munich.

V. Asuka's relationship with her father is distant, as it is with her step-mother. After her mother's death, she resolved to be an "adult" and not rely on anyone. As such, she doesn't give more than a lip-service amount of affection to her parents. Her own smarts may have contributed to this.

VI. Asuka was born in and spent much of her early life in Berlin, Germany. She went through various Eva training programs there before transferring to Munich to attend university.

VII. She didn't have many friends growing up. In fact, she didn't really have any "friends". She had people she hung out with, people she knew from her schooling (both at university and before). She was popular enough (although thought a bit odd, for being eleven and in university), but she never opened up to any of them and they remained merely "acquaintances".

VIII. During university, tutored a few of her older classmates.

IX. Asuka's favorite type of movies are military or war dramas, which usually end with the hero (or heroine) being congratulated and celebrated by their home nation (or planet, if it's a sci-fi). She scorns "giant robot" anime.

X. Science-fiction novels are a guilty pleasure - after all, only nerds are into science-fiction. She prefers "hard" science-fiction over the soft stuff. Ray Bradbury, however, remains one of her preferred science-fiction authors.

1. Roxie had a boy she liked just a little, just before she was empowered. They talked sometimes. He liked her a little, too. She sacrificed that relationship in an oneiromantic dealing for power. She doesn't know anything about it now, of course: all she remembers is that she gave up something important, but not what it is.

2. A hidden little track of her mind speculates, in off times, about her parents, who she doesn't remember and has never known anything convincing about. It would be an easy thing to trick her with.

3. Her relationship with Shyama is weird, weird, weird, seeing as he is both a father figure, and the only being she's ever been entirely sure unconditionally loves her.

4. In the time before she kills them, Roxie treats sacrificial animals with the utmost kindness and gentleness.

5. Roxie doesn't like people, per se; she likes the presence of certain people. This disconnect is part of the strangeness of her behavior.

6. Though she stays outwardly cool, internally Roxie gets easily frustrated, annoyed, or angered. This dichotomy is part of the reason for her being chosen by Shyama.

7. She's (mostly) good at seeming otherwise, but Roxie bullshits a lot of what she does, and makes answers up to support her own position when she's not sure of something. Eventually, this will backfire.

8. Roxie finds cephalopods and crustaceans the cutest animals of all, directly after snakes.

9. If she hadn't been chosen, Roxie would have started to kill people anyway. Just less discriminately.

10. If she ever survives long enough, Roxie may start to turn into something of a god. Ironically enough, she'd become more human emotionally at the same time she starts to become less human (meta)physically.

Lafiel:

1: Is very much a cat person. She's knowledgable about caring for them and their breeds. Perhaps the only time you'll see her act gentle and tender is with kitties.
2: Still has no idea what the hell she's gotten into with Meluly. She likes her but it'll take hell and high water to get her to admit that: she won't be over Jinnto for a long time.
3: Misses her little brother and (never thought she would!) dad.
4: Harbors deep feelings of inadequacy about being empress. Normally she would have done another decade in the Star Forces plus fifteen years as a merchant before the possibility of ascending the throne would even be considered.
5: Despite her slight stature, she's pretty damn tough. Most don't believe she's served two long campaigns plus miscellaneous missions if they're not familiar with the Abh.
6: Her favorite drink is Teal Nom with Lop. It is a kind of peach tea with a slice of lemon.
7: Very vain about her hair. Will not let anyone else cut it and hated having to dye it on Sufugnoff
8: Her ears are actually smaller than normal for an Abriel because she's a 'child of love'. They do provide her with very sensitive hearing though.
9: Abh do not have words for 'homosexual' or 'heterosexual' and only for 'asexual' as a negative compound word.
10: Her father did not tell her the true identity of her female gene donor (biological mother) and legally wasn't required to until she was 21. Once he convinced her it was the family cat, as a prank. It turned out to actually be her first CO, Captain Lexshu of Gosroth.
11: Abriels are forbidden to cry.
12: The most intimate act an Abh can allow is to touch their froce (sensory organ located in the forehead) because it is so vulnerable and causes sensations of distance displacement if touched anything but very gently.

1. Red Snout has a soft spot for Yuri (and children in general). Good luck getting him to admit it.

2. Red Snout is only about 14 or 15 years old.

3. He has a fascination for all things human, but again, would never admit it.

4. Has an ambition to unit all sorts of squabbling raptors into one large tribe. Probably will never happen due to raptors constantly squabbling, though.

5. Red Snout is smarter than he seems. He comes off as a blowhard and a bully, but is quite calculating and clever, just not in ways most humans would think of.

6. Taught himself to read via a combination of bullying Yuri and sheer force of will.

7. There are seven hash marks on the butt of his rifle. They represent the three humans and four raptors he has killed with the weapon.

8. Wishes he had opposable thumbs. Will never admit this.

9. Carries the scalps of the humans he's killed and the talons of the raptors he has killed with him as trophies.

10. Hates, hates, hates that Picard got the better of him, and quietly plots a revenge of some type.
