Blind Date Meme

I feel vaguely bad posting this since we've had a few other memes over the last few days but. I wanna spam the hell out of everyone. .___.

In honour of the fact that it's Valentine's tomorrow in my corner of the world, I bring you the Blind Date Meme!

Somehow, someway, your character has agreed to a blind date (or several). Maybe they were coerced into it, maybe they don't actually mind the idea, maybe it's just Stacy messing with everyone's heads again, but they're here now. And at the very least, it shouldn't be boring for them.

♥ Make a comment for your character, you can outline a mini-setting if you want. (Think along the lines of the 'Waking up in bed' meme we had a little while back.)

♥ Other characters comment to that as the other half of the blind date!

♥ SPAM HAPPENS.

My inbox dies horribly PROFIT!*

* 'PROFIT' may not apply if participants' idea of profit is anything other than large amounts of spam. Offer void outside the internets.

Alright.

...so when do these things stop?

[identity profile] smartnass.livejournal.com 2010-02-13 02:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Either when the song ends, or when you want to stop. And since they're playing just for us, they're not going to stop.

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2010-02-13 02:06 pm (UTC)(link)
So we just... stop?

[He does. Too bad about that foot under his.]

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2010-02-13 02:11 pm (UTC)(link)
[Grife. Luckily flight rings allow for really fast getting-off-Lyle's-foot.]

I'm sorry! I wasn't paying attention...

[identity profile] smartnass.livejournal.com 2010-02-13 02:13 pm (UTC)(link)
That-- is--

[hold on, the clutching his foot auto-reaction has taken over]

Grife, you're heavy.

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2010-02-13 02:15 pm (UTC)(link)
[Awkwardly rubbing the back of his head now]

Yes, well. I do change into something much larger and the extra material has to come from somewhere...

...It's not too badly damaged, is it?

[identity profile] smartnass.livejournal.com 2010-02-13 02:20 pm (UTC)(link)
[Maybe not, but Lyle is stuck floating there and trying very hard not to make a big deal over this. Which is unfair. If your foot is hurt, you should get to swear and whimper a lot.]

It's ... it's all right. [Lyle is a manly man and will stand up straight and ignore it. It does hurt less already.]

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2010-02-13 02:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Are you sure? There are a lot of delicate bones in the area and it wouldn't take much to check them just in case...

[If it helps any, Lyle, he's clearly feeling incredibly guilty right now.]

[identity profile] smartnass.livejournal.com 2010-02-13 02:25 pm (UTC)(link)
No, really, I'm fine.

[That doesn't help, really. He's trying to think of a change of subject but failing.]

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2010-02-13 02:28 pm (UTC)(link)
[He doesn't believe you.]

Maybe I should check it anyway...

[Oh. Well. Some weather we're not having due to controlled climates, hey?]

[identity profile] smartnass.livejournal.com 2010-02-13 02:32 pm (UTC)(link)
[Lyle sits, his legs crossed European-style.]

You can check if you like. [Maybe it'll give him some time to think of a subject change.]

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2010-02-13 02:35 pm (UTC)(link)
It'd make me feel better about things.

[A holographic display pops out of his forearm while his other hand shifts into a strange scanning tool which is swept over the injured foot.]

...there doesn't seem to be any damage...

[identity profile] smartnass.livejournal.com 2010-02-13 02:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[Now that's interesting.

Lyle's examining Brainy back--but without the scanners.]

That's convenient.

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2010-02-13 02:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[Subject change get!]

Very much so. I find it extremely handy considering the Legion's... perchance for injury. It helps a lot if there's someone who can perform emergency treatments around for large missions as well.

[identity profile] smartnass.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
[Lyle nods.]

Until we got Dr. Gym'll on staff, Brainy handled all our weird health issues. Drove him nuts.

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
[He smirks.]

Tell me about it. Of course I'm limited by what my technology can achieve out in the field, but the medical facilities on the Legion's cruisers are generally very up to date.

[identity profile] smartnass.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
It was more along the lines of ... Brainy, after fighting that mage I glow in the dark, and now I can't sleep!

I guess I should count myself pretty lucky that I haven't been eaten by space whales yet.

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
Thankfully I don't tend to get problems with that. Though there was the issue with Matter Eater Lad and the Emerald Eye of Ekron...

[identity profile] smartnass.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
[pause]

Matter Eater Lad?

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
Tenzil Kem? From Bismoll?

[identity profile] smartnass.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, Tenzil. He's our cook. I can't imagine him wanting to join the Legion. Chuck, sure, if he had powers.

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
Really? He applied for try-outs and passed with good results. And Bouncing Boy was in the Legion since before I joined. In fact, Chuck was team leader at one point.

I suppose it's just one of those reality things?

[identity profile] smartnass.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
Chuck would probably make a good leader. He has a good head on his shoulders.

I guess so. I'd still like to know what happened to me in your universe. I'd hate to think I'm still working as a spy for the UP.

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
He does. His leadership during a crisis was what won him the role as well.

...I wonder about that as well. We did have someone try out for the Legion some years ago with invisibility powers, but they weren't named Lyle Norg.
