Charlotte skipped forth from the darkness like a ray of sunshine through a gap in the clouds--or like a glistening baby alien from the chest of its host, take your pick. She crouched forward.

"Hi! I'm Charlotte!"

Her neck cracked several times as she turned.

"What's your name?"

Ok, NO ONE should be able to creep her out more than herself.

"Killer of odd blue children. You?"

She continued to smile, her body turned towards the pile of money and her head towards Alessa.

"Tee-hee! You're silly!" Charlotte insisted, "You don't kill children, you make friends with them! Everyone knows that!"

Alessa gave her a piercing stare.

"I don't kill children, but I could start. Never call me silly, strange mutant thing."

And she laughed, moving at blinding speeds, popping from her previous point to just behind Alessa's shoulder.

"I know! Let's play Tax Inspectors!!"

Alessa did NOT like someone doing what she did, but for the moment she would indulge this...thing.

"What is that game?"

"It's where you pretend to be a tax inspector, silly!" Charlotte explained with infinite patience, "We go knock on people's doors and repossess furniture and forclose mansions and--"

"Actually, that sounds fun!" Alessa said with her evil smile. "Are you a demon too?"

"I'm a tax inspector!" Charlotte winked.
