NAKED MEME

Suddenly.

You are naked.

All of you. Even you, over there, the already naked guy.

Except for one thing.

You all have fig leaves over your privates. They cannot be removed or destroyed. They are large enough to cover everything. (They might itch a little)

Oh, and even already naked people with no visible privates will have the leaves, either over their naughty bits' actual locations, or just where they should be.

"It was slow at first, with my face being the first he saw after his hundred year sleep, and then mine being the first he saw again when he almost di-"

But THAT was a memory she wasn't so hot on reliving at the moment. It wasn't that she minded telling Billy, but that it was one of those moments when she had truly been scared out of her mind. The thought of losing Aang that day had been very real, and she realized that might have been when she knew what she felt for him was more than just "friends."

"Yes," Katara said, smiling. It had been long, but she would have to have faith, that was all. Losing focus and believing all was lost would just be a way for her to stay in a place where Aang never came, and she never believed that to be true. He would come, he HAD to.

The hug intensified their happy feelings, and she leaned into the hug, actually happy. Anyone else would have thought there was something going on between the two of them, but they knew better. "You did, tons. Thank you Billy."

Died. The moment that was revealed, Billy had squeezed her hand tightly. Aang had lived, thank goodness, but Billy could feel how terrified Katara had been. Certainly an understandable fear.

Grateful that Sokka wasn't around to grind him into a meat pulp no one was watching them and getting the wrong impression, he leaned into the hug as well. Any awkwardness resulting from so much skin contact was supplanted by friendly love and worry for the person in his arms.

The very moment he thought that, a warm light started to glow in the middle of his chest and radiate outward. He thought it might have spread to Katara too, but his vision had gone white too quickly to squint at anything.

When the strange morphing-like sensation faded, he realized three things: first and most importantly, he could see clearly again. His glasses were back! Second, that meant their clothes had been returned. Third: he could actually see her smile for the first time that day. And that was enough for him to flash her a wide grin.

"Finally," he breathed, "though the timing of this event seems suspicious"

((Just an idea I ganked from other threads---characters who reach an understanding with each other get their clothes back and are free to go. Hope that's okay?))

Yes, she had Master Paku to thank that day, him and the water from the spirit oasis. If it hadn't been for that, Aang might not be here, and their world would have been doomed. She was glad that Billy shared in her relief.

The hug she and he shared was interrupted slightly by a warm feeling that started to encompass the both of them. For a moment she thought it might be another emotion Billy was sharing with her when she realized she not only felt less naked, Billy was actually wearing his glasses! She returned the grin, and looked down, glad to finally be clothed even though she had been feeling less uncomfortable about it with Billy.

"I agree," she said, "Unless there was some way that we triggered our clothes coming back. That would just be weird though."

Honestly, he was more relieved to be able to see clearly again than to be clothed, although that was a nice bonus. He looked her over to be sure that she was okay, then got right to hypothesizing.

"Weird, but not impossible. An event happening after another isn't proof that one caused the other, but it should be taken into consideration. And we were dressed again after we shared ourselves with each other and stopped feeling discomfort. We could have learned a lesson, or perhaps if we were being unethically being experimented on we provided all the data that could be collected."

Whatever it was, he was too relieved to worry excessively---and silently grateful for the opportunity to learn more about his friend. That was the most important thing now.

Katara checked her clothing just to make sure everything was in place (and thankfully there was no leaves to be found. That had been one of the more irritating things, honestly: it was itchy.

"Well, I don't know," Katara said. "It seems coincidental otherwise, and I'm not one for random circumstance. Besides, if the key to the clothes coming back was us not feeling uncomfortable, Kaylee would have her clothes on already. She seemed like she enjoyed it. Wouldn't her clothes have come back because she wasn't bothered, and anyone else who weren't all that concerned about being naked?"

It was all hypothesis and, like Billy, she was happy to have gotten to learn more about him and Renne. It was funny how it had started with her trying to help him, rebounded and then ended with her finding she was able to so something she had never attempted in quite that way before.

It was possible that her befriending Renne might have been the catalyst.

"True. It could be random, or maybe it had to happen in pairs or groups---similar to the mistletoe predicament during the holidays. Kaylee seems to gravitate toward uncomfortable people and harass us." He shrugged. "GLaDOS was always fond of her illegal social experiments."

He laughed with a slight blush. It was fading into a funny memory easily enough, but he could still remember how afraid he'd felt at first.

Billy took the opportunity to drape an affectionate arm over her shoulders, looking at her sincerely. It was so much easier to do this when he could see what he was doing! "But whatever it was, I'm relieved that you're the one I solved it with. It easily could have been worse."

Katara wrinkled her nose, trying to think of what happened during the mistletoe experience. It only came in bits and pieces, but from what she could remember, it hadn't been all that bad, just very awkward. "GLADOS seems to have way too much time on her hands," Katara muttered, looking vaguely scolding. "And Kaylee really shouldn't tease so much , even if it is a little funny at first."

The arm over her shoulder was a comfort though: there had still been a lot of unease in her mind before this, and now it was at least lessened to a certain degree. Now, at least, she knew that she could deal with her problems head on, by herself. She just needed to have the strength,

And even if she didn't, she still had her friends, right?

"I'm glad too," Katara said. "Now you can see, we got to know each other better and we both are able to actually make our emotions solid. I feel like meeting Renne, and you, opened me up to that ability."

Billy shook his head and smiled. "I'm not worried. Kaylee means well, and she's just trying to pull me out of my shell. She's said as much."

Drawing back, he kept beaming at her. "It's been a pleasure to share that with you. And you've been opening me up to the possibility of surviving a fight with the Ohm, so we're even."

"Oh, I know! She's fun though, isn't she? I almost wish I had some of her bubbliness and flair, but I'm way too awkward for that. Besides, I definitely can't flirt like she can, I was raised too differently. But that's okay: I like that we're different."

She game him a polite bow. She never used to be this formal, but doing it reminded her of home, so she tended to slip into that every once and awhile. "I'm glad I could be of help. This fight is going to be an ongoing one, so anything I can do to help, I will."
