Suddenly.

You are naked.

All of you. Even you, over there, the already naked guy.

Except for one thing.

You all have fig leaves over your privates. They cannot be removed or destroyed. They are large enough to cover everything. (They might itch a little)

Oh, and even already naked people with no visible privates will have the leaves, either over their naughty bits' actual locations, or just where they should be.

Barely covered. I'd never choose to expose this much of myself.

[Come on, this is a dude who has only recently adjusted to the idea that it's okay to go shirtless at the beach.]

You're not worried at all about lecherous people?

[ She's right, Billy, just admit it and come out of the water so she can continue her Checking Out business. :P ]

Worried about 'em here? [ Kaylee just grins and shakes her head. ] If anybody tries anythin', I've got a decent idea that they'll have to deal with Kang first.

[His uniform already showed all there was to see of his rear anyway, just in a different color.]

And me. My fists may not be as powerful as his, and it's difficult to see anything, but I wouldn't let you get hurt.

[With that, he slowly edges out of the water. To be able to protect Kaylee should something happen. He's seen perverts around here and won't tolerate them hurting his friends.]

Really, you don't gotta worry, Billy. They might be runnin' about, but we're all on one boat, and 'M sure everybody knows better'n that.

[ Probably doesn't help matters that Kaylee's one of them, Billy, and is taking her chance to look him over once or twice, but such is life. ]

They'd better.

[He sits on the smooth ground and fidgets a little when he feels her eyes on him. Those goosebumps aren't just from the cold.]

Speaking of boats, I wonder how we got here. Or more importantly, who's responsible.

[Resisting looking at her. Some people would have his hide, and it's not polite.]

[ She doesn't look for long, no worries, though it's not like she was working hard to hide it anyhow. ]

Who knows? Somebody with a sense of humor to 'em would be my guess.

[ Good sense of humor, too. ]

[He does look---very briefly. Again, it's not like he can see much, but giving the appearance of eye contact would be nice.]

GLaDOS? I've never appreciated her humor. Or if it's someone else...they must have planned well to pull off a widescale prank without fear of repercussions.

[After another look around to see if more blobs are coming, he stretches on the grass to start drying off]

Not the worst thing I've ever seen, and who knows? It might even help some people with their shells they keep hidin' in.

[ Nothing like wandering around almost-naked with other almost-naked people to bring down barriers. ]

It'll reset soon enough, 'M sure. [ In the mean time, she's gonna follow Billy's example and stretch out. ]

Helping people shed their shells? [He looks over and cocks an eyebrow.] I certainly hope you're not referring to me. I fail to see how being naked around all of you is going to have social benefits.

[Sigh.] I'd make a comment about something getting worse, but with my luck whatever I mention would happen in short order.

Maybe not you, no, but there're plenty of others who could use it. [ There's pride in her voice: ] You've been makin' better progress with lettin' loose than I ever could've expected.

So make it anyhow. 'Less it's losin' everythin' includin' the fig leafs, I don't think there's much else for it.

I'd like to see those cases. Well...not that I can see at the moment, but bear witness to it at least.

[There's a smile on his face. Feeling her pride definitely puffs him up. For a few moments, he even forgets that they're both naked.]

You're going to ruin me. [Fond teasing.] What will I do next, host a party during normal work hours?

[Headshake] We're almost there anyway. I was thinking of something more drastic. Such as us turning into newts.

Keep an ear out for 'em, then. They'll all figure it out sooner or later.

Ruin you? I'd never. Livin' ya up a bit, maybe, but that's a different story. [ A grin. ] Know a few folks who wouldn't mind an office party...

[ LAUGHING. ] Oh, newts. Newts'd be a new one alright.

I'm sure your voice won't be far behind.

[Musses his hair a little. It's starting to dry, finally.]

That may not be a good idea. Certain department members would have our heads. But perhaps if we moved the location...? [Yup, being around Kaylee lifts his spirits no matter what situation he's in.]

It would be fascinating, no doubt. I would try to make the most of an opportunity for an intimate study of other life forms.

[ She gives his arm a playful whack. ] I ain't the only one encouragin' 'em, y'know.

Ship wide party. We'll start a conga line, all the way around Stacy. [ Is she joking? It's hard to tell...

Teasing: ] Leave it to you to make it into a learnin' experience.

[Mock-winces and rubs his arm.] No, you have Wyn in your corner.

...I'm positive someone will complain about noise levels interfering with their work. Remind me to distribute earplugs beforehand.

[Shy smile] I need to learn to live happily.

Earplugs? Naw, c'mon, live a little. Maybe they'll join in on the line, and it'll get everybody up 'n dancin' 'n smilin' for a bit.

So we'll keep ya learnin'. Can teach ya all kinds of things. Stars 'n planets 'n tech. You ain't ever gonna run outta things to learn, Billy.

As long as everyone smiles, you've won.

[Little smile over his shoulder for her]

Thank goodness for that.

[Look, he's even learned how to survive a conversation while naked!]

I like to think so. Long as there's laughter in the 'verse.

[ She smiles, and reaches over to give his hair a quick ruffle-through. Don't worry, Billy. Don't ever worry. ]
