CANON INFORMATION NIGHT!

The game's pretty big isn't it? With so many characters it's sometimes hard to keep up with everyone's canon and character backgrounds. Not to mention that the apps aren't always placed in the character's journal, and it leaves you wondering how they are, or even where they come from.

WELL WONDER NO MORE! It's time for a canon and character night!

The idea behind this post is primarily an information exchange. Just fill in this form, and think about factoids and things in a list form. Remember, you're trying to sell your character & canon to others, so talk about what makes them unique and fun. With any luck, you'll learn some new things about other people's characters that you can base relationships or friendships on, or even find a new fandom which catches your interest!

Note: Please mark the top of your thread with the canon. This way, other people in your canon can add whatever they want to it, such as their character stuff, and other cool factoids about the canon that they might remember.

You are perfectly fine and more than allowed to ask questions about the fandoms to the other players if you wish as well!

That second game cover omg Lash stop staring into our souls.

Also ahh lasers. Seeing Lash makes me want to app this character who would help her build giant freaking crazy weapons for everyone.

Character: Gaignun Kukai Jr. (Rubedo)
Canon: Xenosaga

I'll just leave this post I made just for this kind of occasion here. (http://carrieswar.livejournal.com/5041.html)

And this post about the characters/Jr. himself. (http://carrieswar.livejournal.com/2971.html)

I also think this fanmade trailer (http://youtube.com/watch?v=cYEkTXL691Y) is fantastic and worth a watch for interest-pinging.

I'm clearly prepared for memes like this. >_>

Kamen Rider

[identity profile] darknight-rider.livejournal.com 2011-08-20 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
Character: Akiyama Ren
Canon: Kamen Rider (Ryuki)

Interesting things about the character:
-First Kamen Rider in the Ryuki era, due to either circumstance or destiny (more likely the latter, given the way things were manipulated). It was kind of a do-or-die (or do-or-let-her-die) moment and Ren chose to fight in order to save his fiancee.
-Suffers a major internal conflict between needing to win and not having it in him to kill another human being--particularly his now best friend.
-More or less resolves this conflict by killing Kamen Rider Odin in self-defense. It doesn't go well.
-Has REALLY bad defense mechanisms and will completely shut down under enough stress.
-He's more balanced between what he wants to do and what he has to do and can now accept that he's become a much better person, even if it's pretty much ruined him as a Rider. He's willing to believe there may be another way to get what he wants without having to make such difficult sacrifices.

Interesting things about the canon/fandom:
-The story is about 13 Kamen Riders fighting one another to the death in another world in order to fulfill their wishes. They use monsters who don't even like them and want to eat them in order to gain power, but the monsters accept it because the contract lets them get stronger too.
-Ryuki is Digimon Tamers with Kamen Riders. Puella Magi Madoka Magica is Kamen Rider Ryuki with magical girls.
-Ryuki is a mindscrew. No, really. The series is set on a time loop, resulting in the movie and special being alternative timelines that are equally valid as canon. Then you get into the Kanzakis and especially Yui and it gets brain-hurty.
-The Kamen Rider universe (Japan originals only, at least) is one massive universe, connected by Den-O and OOO, as revealed in Let's Go Kamen Riders. Yes, this contradicts the implications throughout Decade. But this time, we're blaming Den-O and OOO, so Tsukasa's off the hook.
-Ryuki was adapted in America as Kamen Rider Dragon Knight, with a massively simplified storyline to focus on the Rider War only, but with an alien twist. While it bombed in America (much like Ryuki had done in Japan), it was incredibly successful in Japan, where it was dubbed.
-Ren's counterpart in Dragon Knight is named Len. They're pronounced exactly the same in Japanese. Furthermore, Len's dub actor is Matsuda Satoshi, who played Ren in Ryuki.

Anything else?:
-I'm attempting to make sense of the series by reviewing it here (http://akino-ame.livejournal.com/500689.html).

Character: Alendian
Canon: Warhammer 40k

Interesting things about the character:
-much much older than the average human could ever be eldar fuck yeah
-considers every other alien race as lesser to hers eldar fuck yeah
-despite being a teleporting warrior, she has taken other paths in her life leaving her with a modicum level of healing powers (on other Eldar) and super experienced in stealth and tracking eldar fuck yeah
-she has a bigger grudge against humans than normal because they were invading her Craftworld before she arrived on the ship humanity fuck yeah

Interesting things about the canon/fandom:
-EVERYONE IS BAD NO ONE IS GOOD
-Seriously, even the "good guy" alien race is only considered good because they give people an option of joining them or dying...as opposed to just dying.
-GREEN IZ FOR DA ORKS
-If you get into this fandom either be prepared to read or be prepared to shell out hundreds of dollars. Or both.
-The cooler something looks, the chances are, the more powerful it is.
-There is a lot of rage in this fandom be prepared.

Kamen Rider W

[personal profile] thisclinchesit 2011-08-20 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
Character: Shoutarou Hidari
Canon: Kamen Rider W

Interesting things about the character:
-Shoutarou is a man who aspires to be a hard-boiled detective but is too emotional to pull it off.
-Kiiiind of got his boss killed due to his own impatience/desire to show that he's useful. He's mostly over it.
-Freakin' loves fedoras.
-Generally does two things when it comes to women - either he'll bicker endlessly with them, or flirt like there's no tomorrow. And he usually fails, but manages to be charming enough that he doesn't get slapped.
-Will wreck your face if you make someone cry, or get himself wrecked trying. Seriously. He put himself in a good bit of mortal danger when one of the higher-ranking bad guys made the rival/ally rider cry - Shoutarou pulled off a Twin Maximum Drive, and got himself laid up for a while as a result.
-Shoutarou FREAKS THE HELL OUT at things he finds weird. Granted this is kind of wobbly as to what he finds weird given that he fights monsters as a job, but it's still fun.
-He has the coolest theme music - both for he figures stuff out and for combat.

Interesting things about the canon:
-11th Heisei Kamen Rider series, 20th series overall.
-Episode titles reflect the duality theme of the show - two titles separated by a slash, and the first title uses a letter in place of a word that actually represents two words. For example, the first episode's title is "The W Search/Two Detectives in One." W represents both W the rider, and Word. I try and do this with most of my comm posts because I am a huge dork.
-The show does a damn good job of mixing comedy and drama.

Character: Ben Tennyson
Canon: Ben 10 Universe (Classic, Alien Force, Ultimate Alien)

Interesting things about the character:
- Ben's responsible for destroying Pluto by absolutely doing nothing. He was stuck as Alien X at the time mind you.
- He has a confirmed smoothie and chili fries addiction.
- He might act like a flake, but in reality -- he's a flake. But he has a photographic memory as well as a rather amazing ability to make the best of a situation no matter the moment in time.
- He has a constant fear of lightning because of getting struck by it and being possessed a couple of times.
- Probably Bisexual and doesn't care.
- Idolized Captain Nemesis, a widely televised hero until Nemesis pretty much shattered his belief in him.

Interesting things about the canon/fandom:
- The original series was created by Man of Action, a group of six or so collaboration writers. While the first season went for four seasons with an overreaching metaplot, it was mostly Ben being a kid and being a complete jerk about everything.
- Alien Force and Ultimate Alien Season 1 and 2 were pioneered by Dwayne McDuffiemayherestinpeace. They are currently on hiatus and are awaiting the Fall Season, where it kicks off with a crossover with Man of Action's Generator Rex.
- Ben 10 UA and AF have a high volume of things getting under the censor radar, such as Ben's Balls Dropped joke.
- The fandom is crazy.

Anything else?: There's nothing more awesome than Rath.

He also fights Gravity -- and fails.

Tenchi Muyo!

[identity profile] saint-sami.livejournal.com 2011-08-20 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
Character: Sasami Masaki Jurai
Canon: Tenchi Muyo! (formerly Tenchi Universe, now Tenchi Muyo! OVA)

Interesting things about the character:
- One of four characters who are deities. The other three? Washu, Tokimi and, unsurprisingly, Tenchi himself!
- Sasami is actually one part of the goddess Tsunami. Those other parts? Tsunami herself, the Tsunami tree, the Tsunami battleship and the Juraian Royal Palace itself! The palace, however, was just her old body.
- Has at least five different continuity forms - OVA, Universe, Tokyo (where she's much more crazier and Ryo-Ohki turns into a super robot), Pretty Sammy (where she's a magical girl) and Magical Girls Club (same thing, yet without the Monster of the Week trappings.)
- Looks about 8 or 9. Is actually that plus 700. Suspended animation does that to you!
- She's the best cook in the house, though the 3 OVA and GXP show that Noike and Tenchi do have skills of their own.
- The 3rd OVA never explains it, but Sasami is skilled with staves and is skilled enough to take down a trained Galaxy Police agent!
- Sasami's the Trope Namer for the Trope "Really 700 Years Old".
Interesting things about the canon/fandom:
- While not the first harem anime, Tenchi Muyo! is considered to be one of the more popular of the bunch.
- This series actually has a shit load of spinoffs and AUs! The OVAs alone have at least three!
- The series was Cartoon Network's 1st anime to be brought here that was actually much more mature in setting than what it had before!

Anything else?:

[identity profile] carrieswar.livejournal.com 2011-08-20 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
I loved Universe, and watched a lot of Muyo! (and watched a bit of in Tokyo as well) I need to re-watch one day because it's been years. I'm scared of all of the spin-offs and AUs though. One day I was like LET ME WIKI TENCHI TO SEE WHAT-- oh my God what is all of this.

MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2011-08-20 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
Character: Billy Cranston
Canon: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

Interesting things about the character:
-Billy can't cook. At all. The one time he tried, he made a souffle explode.
-His birthday is April Fool's Day. What a random date.
-He developed icthyophobia (fear of fish) as a young boy when one bit his finger when he was playing near the lake. A monster battle with Rita helped him push past the paralyzing fear, but he still has a lingering aversion to fish.
-He started out as a much more stereotypical nerd character than he is now. Every sentence had a thesaurus crammed in it, he wore overalls, and he couldn't fight. At all. He flailed and got thrown around and ran away. It's taken him almost three years of hard work to get where he is now, as a decent (but nowhere near the best) fighter.
-His powers guided his body in fights (as they do with other rookie Rangers) until he could survive on his own.
-His favorite type of cheeseburger is with guacamole topping.
-Like the rest of his original team, he wears his Ranger color (blue) all the time. It's a little uncomfortable for him not to wear it.
-The sub-part of science he's worst at is biology. He's not bad, just not a super-amazing-genius like in physics and chemistry.
-Builds improbable things like flying cars and memory-sharing devices, as well as one device that would bake a cake if you poured the ingredients in. Not all of them worked, but most did eventually.
-His favorite exclamation is 'prodigious!']
-He built communicators with a teleportation system that worked around the planet with just a touch. It's his dream to someday find enough power to bring that technology to the meatship.
-He's a bit of a xenophile. He shows the least fear of his team around new situations and alien life, and he rather likes making friends with people who are different or feel different. None of his friends back home would be surprised to hear that he's in a relationship with an orc/elf girl.

Interesting things about the canon/fandom:
-MMPR is the first installment of the Power Rangers franchise, a long-running Americanized adaptation of Super Sentai that's still going today. It's over 700 episodes so far.
-It was the subject of several controversies and bannings because live-action fights that showed the actors' faces had (almost) never been done before in childrens' shows. It attracted a lot of attention for being too violent, and this is why the unmorphed battles were replaced with masked Ninja Ranger battles in MMPR Season 3.
-Other than the exceptionally awesome theme music, there's little of quality in the show. The original set of actors has charisma and cute friendship going for them, and the action imported from Super Sentai plus the actors' martial arts talent adds some spice, but everything's cheaply made, preachy, and ridiculous. I apped Billy for the charisma and cute friendship.
-It's available for instant streaming on Netflix, for anyone in the USA who has an account. There are minor glitches in a few episodes but it's serviceable

Anything else?:

this is how I feel right now, honestly

[identity profile] carrieswar.livejournal.com 2011-08-20 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
I am SO SAD I have no Netflix! I did watch a lot of the re-airing it a while back and was so nostalgically happy.

Star Ocean!

[identity profile] seraphicthunder.livejournal.com 2011-08-20 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
Character: Reimi Saionji
Canon: Star Ocean Universe (Star Ocean, The Second Story, Till the End of Time, The Last Hope)

Interesting things about the character:
- Reimi is immune to all forms of disease. It's not to say that she will just walk through a biocontagion area, no, but due to her genetic modification with Muah DNA, she is able to shrug off any disease she picks up, and any cures will work instantly.
- Mastered Japanese and Eastern Archery at a young age. This allows her to hit anything she desires.
- Her powers are all through advanced training and Chi primarily, not unlike the other major races of this game series such as Klausians. However she has no speck of Symbology, or at least from what you see.
- Reimi has always been a constant support for people in the game, even when she's laid low from a petrification disease during the Roak Era.
- Speaking of said Petrification, Reimi is taken from before the end of Roak Arc, so the mid-game events have yet to happen for her.

Interesting things about the canon/fandom:
- Star Ocean is an encompassing story that follows from the beginning (The Last Hope), to the last game featuring Fayt Leingod (Till the End of Time). It's connected in interesting ways, 1 and The Second Story being that they are connected via Family. And the real twist is that their universe is a big MMORPG called The Eternal Sphere, as revealed in Star Ocean 3.
- The game has the most overpowered characters in any game possible, hands down. 3 has the crew regularly beating down things that wreck whole universes with weapons and armor.
- The first and second game were reported to the PSP with voice overs and redesigned artwork. Many fan favorites came out to voice both games, which did rather well in the re-release.
- Star Ocean was in fact created by a team who left Namco Bandai after Tales of Phantasia was created, and can be considered a spiritual successor of that game series. It's no wonder the fans who love Tales Of often love Star Ocean, no matter how quirky and ragey both fandoms get.
- Star Ocean casts often include some kind of cat-eared person (Leon in 2, Meracle in 4) or a lolicon-type (Lymle in 4) which are I suppose design intentions for the directors. I dunno maybe there's something to do with both types.

Anything else?:

Star Ocean is developed by the core team of ENIX of Square-Enix which means there's a lot of guest stars from games. Valkyrie Profile characters feature heavily.

[identity profile] carrieswar.livejournal.com 2011-08-20 01:16 am (UTC)(link)

Character: Anwei Ayles
Canon: Dr. McNinja (OC)

Interesting things about the character :
- She was raised in a violent, racist culture and has worked very hard to overcome her prejudices.
- She was sent to Earth by space mercenaries who wanted to hire Dracula to work with them.
- She feels quite sympathetic towards monsters and other 'bad guys', having been a villain (or been treated as one) for most of her adult life.
- She gets along with AIs better than with most organic-based people.
- She has been controlled and manipulated almost all her life, and a number of things she 'knows' are mistaken or outright deceptions by others.
- She doesn't remember meeting Dr. McNinja on Earth.

Interesting things about the canon/fandom :
- Doctor McNinja is an incredibly cool Web comic with an Irish ninja doctor, his mustachioed, dinosaur-riding sidekick, a gorilla secretary, Paul Bunyan, clones, time travel, magic and Dracula!
- Instead of being a gag-a-day comic, the story is set in 'issues' that run 24 – 80 pages. The current storyline features time-traveling astronauts and LOTS of dinosaurs.
- The series began in black-and-white, but is now in scintillating color, and has full-page updates three times a week.
- You are reading this sentence instead of reading Dr. McNinja. (http://drmcninja.com/archives/comic/1p1/) WHYYYYYY?

Character: Kanoe Zouichi
Canon: Biomega

Interesting things about the character:
- Doesn't sleep, eat, breathe, or age (much)
- Once shot down 13 ICBMs
- can actually punch people's faces off :|
- limbs cannot be cut with powered razor shears (someone tried)
- basically a godless killing machine
Zouichi is an artificially created life form chasing down survivors of a horrible zombie virus. For some reason, this means he needs to be able to jump fighter jets and survive in space. DON'T JUDGE ME.

Interesting things about the canon/fandom:
- The main villain wants to recreate the Earth out of zombie meat because somehow that makes her immortal (?????)
- zombies!
- psychics!
- space pollen!
- motorcycles!
- cyberpunk!
- grizzly bear with a sniper rifle???
Biomega is a seinen manga by Nihei Tsutomu, the same guy who did BLAME! and like... probably a bunch of Halo graphic novel illustrations, but that's less important. It makes NO SENSE but it is still AWESOME because there are zombies and facepunching and motorcycle jumps and aircraft carriers EXPLODE and then the Earth EXPLODES.

Character: Dhianeila Y Leisha Altoria Ol Yunos
Canon: Heroic Age

Interesting things about the character:
- Princess of humanity.
- Can read minds and feelings/intents very strongly and has telepathic powers.
- ^ So strongly that people and her can faint if they get too close.
- ^ Can't go near men as a result. :(
- Has the power to restore 'paths' (starways) between stars and planets across the universe. Can find lost planets and places that have no starways.
- Has two asshole brothers who RUIN EVERYTHING.
- Goes through seemingly impossible deadly ~space storms~ because she doesn't back down from tests of will.
- It was her idea to reach out to the races who wanted humanity dead because she was like "god we don't know crap about them do we? Let's go talk and learn and find out why the hell they want to kill us."

Interesting things about the canon/fandom:
- The big fighters of the series are, as TV Tropes describes perfectly, 20% Gurren Lagann, 30% Galactic Heroes, 25% Godzilla, 200% Dragon Ball.
- Seriously these things punch blackholes and nothingness.
- There's a guy who eats metal and starts eating some guys mecha.
- Some of the main characters have special abilities - teleportation, telekinesis, healing powers.
- Tons of Greek mythology names and references.
- One race is a race of GIANT BUGS.
- One race gives all of their emotions to one 'hoarder' because emotions totally get in the way, man.
- Has mecha aside from the giant godmoding badases!

[personal profile] iselldrugstothecommunity 2011-08-20 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
Character: Howard Bassem
Canon: Gone

Interesting things about the character:
-Howard's a resourceful little freak who turned an exercise machine into a set of restraints and cooked up his own booze out of improbable sources. He's also a drug dealer, in case the name wasn't a tip-off.

-Howard's the element of moral ambiguity in the series, along with a few other supporting characters. He's loyal to his one (1) friend, intelligent, a hard worker and can be very nurturing. He's also a self-centered little weasel who is unhelpful, rude and would sell you out for a candybar.

-Nearly left another kid to die so he could take a fully-clothed shower? Check. Also helped run a fire evacuation and broke down in tears the morning after because all the DEATH AND TRAUMA? Also check. MAKE UP YOUR MIND, DUDE.

-On that note, Howard's spent about 30% of his pagetime in the series either angsting or in tears. The other 70% he spends cowering and/or snarking!

-Howard can drive both a car and a motorboat, despite being thirteen or so at the beginning of the series.

-Howard has 'a peculiar genius for naming things'. Pretty much the only thing he HASN'T named in his canon has been the Supernatural Death Cough, and let's face it, he'd totally have thought of a cooler name.

-90% of Gone fans agree that he and his best friend, Orc, have eyebrow-raising amounts of Ho Yay. It does not help that the author keeps hinting Howard might be gay on Twitter. Unfortunately, the canon has yet to give any straight answers no pun intended. The next book comes out in 2012, so Howard's not allowed to have chemistry with anyone, ever, for any reason, rarara, until then. :|

Interesting things about the canon/fandom:
-Gone has like a zillion characters. About sixty names come up in regular rotation.

-Gone is 4/6ths finished. The next two books come out in 2012. My plurk will be a spoiler minefield.

-The setting for Gone is a giant, inexplicable fishbowl full of teenagers and mutant horrors called 'the FAYZ'. The currency in the FAYZ is bullets. Also Monopoly stickers. And more bullets.

-The FAYZ features talking coyotes, flesh-eating worms, cannibalism, mob rule, mutant powers and a Big Bad. A Big Bad who is Space Jesus. With an army of beetles. You can't order better narm.

-Gone has the MOST BORING PROTAGONISTS EVER. Fortunately the supporting cast is awesome!

-It's empirical fact that Michael Grant drinks Plot-Holeade when he writes Gone. He then washes it down with a nice chug of Pseudoscience.

Character: Sonic the Hedgehog
Canon: Sonic the Hedgehog (games)

Interesting things about the character:
- Canonically, his top speed is unknown. Many say that it's Mach 1 (over 700 MPH), but it's very flimsy as to how fast he is.
- Has four transformed states - Super, Hyper (Sonic 3 and Knuckles), Darkspines (Sonic and the Secret Rings) and Excalibur (Sonic and the Black Knight)
- Suffers from a massive case of aquaphobia. How bad? In the first Mario and Sonic game, Sonic wears a lifevest in his swimming events!
- Remember how he loved to eat chili dogs in the cartoons and comics? Canon.
- Despite what you've seen, Sonic lives on Earth, not Mobius. As well, he wasn't brown when he first appeared.
Interesting things about the canon/fandom:
- Sonic's celebrating his 20th Anniversary this year! Happy birthday, blue man. He also shares this anniversary with the Super Robot Wars franchise!
- Sonic has had at least one appearance in every current next-gen game system.
- He has five animated series - Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, SatAM, Sonic Underground, the OVAs and Sonic X. He also has/had two comic series - the Archie and the Fleetway series.
- Next year is the 20th anniversary of Sonic 2 and the first appearances of Tails and Super Sonic. Also sharing that anniversary? The Tenchi Muyo franchise, the Sailor Moon anime and the Death of Superman storyline.
- SONIC The Hedgehog/Sonic 2006 is the most reviled game of the franchise, due to a shitstorm of mistakes, including a rushed game and the plot in which a human princess falls in love with and later kisses Sonic!
- Sonic's VA collection includes some well-known faces, including Jaelle White (Steve Urkel of Family Matters), Masami Kikuchi (Tenchi Masaki himself), Jason Griffith (4Kids VA) and Roger Craig Smith (amongst others? Chris Redfield)

Character: Allenby Beardsley
Canon: MOBILE FIGHTER G GUNDAM

Interesting things about the character:
- Like any good Gundam Pilot she has a pretty sucky past--she was orphaned as a child and subsequently raised by the Neo-Swedish military to become the perfect Gundam Fighter.
- She can put away pretty impressive quantities of food (e.g. a grocery bag full of meat buns).
- Got mind-controlled twice in the series, which makes her detest even so much as an MRI. (most of her haaaaaaaaaate for Stacy stems from this.)
- She can jump around like a freaking grasshopper, punch so fast her fists are a blur, and throw beam energy from her bare hands because of TRAINING.
- She sees nothing wrong with her Gundam's design; all the other Gundams are just plain.
- She is all about loyalty to her friends! ...and not at all about paying attention to authority. As we have recently seen.
- Helped save Earth from a giant Cthulu-like humanity-hating Gundam... thing.
- Kind of becomes an unofficial member of the Shuffle Alliance (the five Gundam Fighters whose job it is to like... protect Earth and fair play and stuff).

Interesting things about the canon/fandom:
- It is made of lots of and not at all of like... reasonable physics. Or much reasonable anything.
- In fact, the director proudly said in an interview that he made a conscious decision not to worry about if it made sense, so long as it looked cool.
- This is the series with the Mexican Gundam with a sombrero, the Canadian Gundam that's a lumberjack, the American boxer-football-player Gundam, ETC. ETC.
- This is because the premise of the show is that after most wealthy humans move to space colonies, nations signed a treaty to hold a Gundam Fight every four years to decide which nation rules supreme. This acts as a replacement for real wars. BASICALLY it's the Olymics WITH GIANT ROBOTS.
- There is also a horse Gundam. Not a Gundam shaped like a horse, a Gundam that is piloted by a horse.
- People rise out of shadows in the floor, punch giant skyscrapers out of the ground, have their fists randomly burst into flame, and none of this is weird at all.
- IT ALSO HAS AN ENVIRONMENTALIST MESSAGE not even kidding.
- The series is watchable here (http://www.watchanimeon.com/anime/g-gundam/page/2)! It's the dubbed version, but even if you hate dubs it doesn't matter much because 1/3 of the dialogue is "GRRRRRRRRR!" and "RAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" anyway.

Character: Punchy
Canon: Intimates

Interesting things about the character:

-Punchy attends superhero school! He got held back. We all wonder why.

-His powers are that he has a magical handpuppet. Possibly an alien handpuppet. No one knows for sure.

-He's been gradually becoming more and more of a hero, which is an arc I'd like to explore in the game. At first he's just a wannabe. By the end of the series, he's a slightly less twerpy wannabe!

-Punchy's hobby is luring sexual predators in online and turning them over the FBI. He also runs anarchist websites despite not really knowing what they are.

-Punchy has been banned from four different email services for mass mailing.

-Punchy habitually lies about his past, because his past is super boring. His mother teaches piano part-time and his father is a salesman or something. According to him, they're totally cool archaeologists like Indiana Jones.

-Punchy gets four hours of sleep a night and supposedly fasted through the spring semester of Seminary. Also he might be dead. Again, we all wonder why.

Interesting things about the canon/fandom:
-Intimates was a short-lived comic book series under Wildstorm. It utilized scrollbars, comics within comics, and flashback boxes to really push the boundaries of the medium and give each page an 'information overload' effect. As such, reading an issue of Intimates takes about three times as long as reading an issue of anything else. Except Watchmen, maybe.

-Some idiot had the bright idea to make the scrollbar white text on a yellow background. That idiot is probably burning in hell.

-The end of the series was a catastrophic trainwreck involving artists quitting, artists recycling pages from other projects, the editor quitting, and Joe Casey making passive-aggressive rambles in the scrollbar about how much he hated 1) the editors and 2) writing the scrollbar.

Anything else?: In my head, his theme song is "Pretty Fly for a White Guy".

Character: Vivio Takamachi
Canon: Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha

Interesting things about the character:
- The clone of a powerful ancient mage king known as the Saint Kaiser, she was originally created by Jail Scagletti in his quest of conquest, intending on using has as the power source of the Saint's Cradle.
- In StrikerS, she was strong enough to fight a Blaster-3 Nanoha to a standstill. By ViVid, a lot of her power was stripped away thanks to Nanoha's 5 Starlight Breakers.
- Speaking of the Starlight Breakers, Vivio indeed took five of them. AND STOOD UP AFTERWARDS. The girl has guts!
- Freaked out Fate-mama after she found out Vivio can still obtain her adult form.
- One has to wonder if Vivio/Einhart's gonna be canon in some way.
- It's implied that Vivio has actually copied attacks from the Nakajima sisters, Nanoha, Fate and Signum.
Interesting things about the canon/fandom:
- Lyrical Nanoha got its beginnings as a H-game. Seriously - Triangle Heart 3: Sweet Songs Forever. Look up YouTube for the Lyrical Toybox for what MGLN COULD have been!
- Vivio, like a lot of the StrikerS characters, is named after cars! The Subaru Vivio in fact XD

Anything else?:

In case you're wondering what's being said in that last touching moment before the Starlight Breakering:

Vivio: All my sadness, my pain, they were fake, created things. I can't be allowed to live!
Nanoha Takamachi: You're wrong. No matter how you were born, the Vivio that's there crying is not a fake or something that was merely created. She's the spoiled girl who cries all the time and can't even get up on her own when she trips. The girl who hates her green peppers, the girl who pats me on the head when I'm lonely... My beloved Vivio. I'm not your real mama, but I'm going to try my best to be. So don't say that you can't be allowed to live. Tell me your true feelings.
Vivio: I... Nanoha-mama... I love you! I want to be with you forever! Mama... Save me!
Nanoha: I will. Whenever, no matter what happens!

Oh, and when she comes to?

Vivio: D-Don't come. I... I can stand up on my own.

Canon: Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn

Interesting things about the character:
- Hates laguz
- Hates everyone
- Hates everything
- Except Ike
- Why aren't you Ike
- Seriously why
Soren is a powerful Archsage who has maxed out all his proficiencies is also a tactician. He basically follows his BFF Ike everywhere because Ike gave him a sandwich one time and did not throw rocks at him.

Interesting things about the canon/fandom:
- FIRE EMBLEEEEEEEEEEEEEM
- has a tiny fandom
- But not as tiny as Advance Wars
Fire Emblem is a strategy RPG type deal. Soren's two games in particular deal with crazed warlords, loyalty, betrayal, Fantastic Racism, and people making bad decisions.

Character: Chell
Canon: Portal Series

Interesting things about the character:
- In true silent protagonist form, we don't know a whole lot about Chell. What we DO know comes to us through a tie-in comic and a few scattered easter eggs.
- She is the (probably adopted) daughter of at least one Aperture scientist, and that she was present on the day GLaDOS locked down the Enrichment Center to begin her reign of testing and neurotoxin and murder. So she's basically been trapped in a lab for most of her life.
- She appears to have volunteered willingly for testing while there were still living scientists, though her file contains a lot of "SUBJECT REFUSED TO ANSWER" and her last name is [REDACTED].
- In addition, she was initially rejected for testing because she is dangerously tenacious, the quality that eventually allowed her to defeat GLaDOS, once a helpful ex-programmer altered the test subject order in her favor.
- Despite the fact that them crazy robots constantly berate Chell for never speaking, she is not actually mute. Word of God dictates that she is just so gosh darn pissed off that she refuses to dignify anyone with actual responses. To anything. Ever.
Fun trivia! She actually was supposed to speak in Portal 2. One word. "Yes", to end the game. It, like many particularly golden bits of dialogue, were cut.
- Her knees are fakey fake. The first game gives her Aperture Science Advanced Knee Replacements, which end up forcibly removed by the end. Portal 2 replaces them with the Long Fall Boot.
- SHE IS THE ULTIMATE SLAYER OF CRAZY GODCOMPUTERS AND KEEPS TALLY MARKS OF HER ROBOT MURDERS ON THE SIDE OF HER PORTAL GUN STACY YOU'RE GOING TO BE NUMBER FOUR.

Interesting things about the canon/fandom:
- Portal and its sequel are first-person…puzzle…shooter…platform…games. The idea is to solve puzzles using what is called the "Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device", which is totally exactly what it sounds like. MAKE PORTALS, SOLVE PUZZLES.
- It was a side project developed by Valve and released with Half-Life 2 as part of the Orange Box in 2007. The itty-bitty, hour-or-two game was a smash hit, and the rest is history.
- It won some awards and is considered very influential and stuff.
- Portal takes place in the Half-Life universe! Valve is really vague on the exact timeline, but it's suggested the first game happens around the same time as the Combine Invasion. THANKS, BLACK MESA. If you look/listen, there are a lot of mentions to Aperture's rival corporation, ranging from powerpoints in back rooms to Aperture's founder outright saying they STOLE HIS IDEAS THOSE BASTARDS. Unfortunately, the second game is even more vague about timelines, though it's implied that Chell cryoslept right through the apocalypse. APP GORDON FREEMAN
- The first game is pretty notable in the sense that both protagonist and antagonist are ladytypes, which is sort of rare in the land of videojuegos. Obviously the tie-in comic and sequel introduce some dudes, but hey, girl power.
- Portal is the one true source of all overused memes.
- Enjoy some easter eggs from the second game.
- Hi I like games about robots and trivia about games about robots can you tell.

PONIES PONIES PONIES PONIES

[identity profile] mylittlelolny.livejournal.com 2011-08-20 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
Character: Pinkie Pie
Canon: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

Interesting things about the character:
-Pinkie is a walking, animated punchline. She routinely breaks the fourth wall and does ridiculous sight gags that would be right at home in a Looney Tunes short.
-She loves to make up songs on the fly
-Spreading joy isn't just her favorite pastime, it is literally her purpose in life. Okay, it's not quite so dire-sounding in the show, but basically every pony gains their cutie mark the moment they realize what their special talent that sets them apart from others is. Her cutie mark represents her ability to make others happy, and everything she does is for that purpose!
-Pinkie was originally going to be a pegasus pony! (http://rabbithutchiscalling.blogspot.com/2011/03/pinkie-pie-as-pegasus.html) oh jeez there would have been NO ESCAPE. Eventually, though, she and Fluttershy switched species, but this does give some insight into why she's so bouncy and can apparently teleport.

Interesting things about the canon/fandom:
MY LITTLE PONY??? THAT SOUNDS LIKE A DUMB CARTOON FOR LITTLE GIRLS!

-NUH UH.
-Well, okay, it IS a cartoon for little girls, but it's perfectly okay for everyone else to enjoy it too! It's smart, funny, well-written and incredibly cute!
-Yes, it IS an iteration of the toyline/cartoon that debuted in the 80s. A large chunk of the characters (including Pinkie herself) are based on characters from older versions but with personality/appearance tweaks.
-Each episode (except for the very first two) is stand alone, so you can pick it up at any one you want!
-It is a FOUNTAIN OF MEMES. (http://youtu.be/2Tjb14VoWjg) Seriously, I don't even know why I'm explaining this show because chances are if you use the Internet on a regular basis you have probably run into a funny image macro from it already. There really needs to be a new Internet rule: "If it exists, there is a MLP parody of it".
-There are LOTS (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJJ94uw05KQ) of (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSbXGsysAAk) songs (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tiynTPuUUM) that will get stuck in your head forever. Not only that, as an example of how much love the creators lavished on this show, a lot of them are tributes to songs from various musicals
-Speaking of love, the fandom for this show is so massive and loud that creators started throwing in shout-outs to fans and have been really cool in general about the fact that tons of grown adults watch their show about magical purple unicorns.

Character: Kang
Canon: Dragonlance

Interesting things about the character:
- He was forced to kill his brothers and other draconians while growing up by the humans, just to get enough to eat.
- He was the first draconian engineer, receiving the training because of a drunken bet made between human officers about whether or not draconians were intelligent enough to do it.
- He is a pro at building bridges and siege engines.
- He was an adult by age two, and is roughly 46 chronologically (he doesn't know his birthday), but he's actually somewhere between 22-24 in comparison to a human, due to the way draconians age. He doesn't know this, or that he can live to be nearly 1,000 years old.
- Unlike most male draconians, he's not attracted at all to human and elven women.
- He once had a dead-drunk minotaur (who was his commanding officer at the time) launched from a catapult in an attempt to kill him. The minotaur ended up killing a dragon with his horns, and surviving. AND HE WANTED TO DO IT AGAIN.
- He killed an entire nest of fire dragons once, that possibly could have meant the end of Krynn if they'd managed to get out of the mountain.
- It was his group that found the only female eggs (the fire dragons were in the way) and raised them.
- He can see in the infrared spectrum when there's very little to no light, and can see normally in low-light, unlike humans.
- He is a sorceror, 10th level. Which... isn't actually that powerful, but there are some nifty spells he has access to.
- He and his men built a fake dragon. Twice. The first one was to pull a prank on some hotshot baaz (brass draconians), and the second one was full of explosives and used to blow up a bunch of goblins and hobgoblins.

Interesting things about the canon/fandom:
- Dragonlance and Forgotten Realms are the two most popular campaign worlds for D&D.
- Krynn is unique in that it doesn't have orcs or drow, and has draconians and kender (I DENY 4E'S EXISTENCE), and that the world works on a balance between good and evil. Also, dragons shape things a hell of a lot more than on other campaign worlds; it's called Dragonlance for a reason.
- NEVER TRUST TAKHISIS. SHE'S A TRICKY, BACKSTABBING MANIPULATOR.
- There are mentions of Dragonlance characters in the Death Gate Cycle novels (they're written by the same authors) made by another character, who is an expy. Fizban in DL = Zifnab in DGC.
- The fandom is 3/4 Raistlin Majere and kender fanboys/fangirls, and a large amount of the Raistlin fans ship him with his twin brother or his apprentice, Dalamar. The latter is kind of easy with how much Dalamar seems to worship him, though.
- The 2008 animated movie is bad. It's very, very bad. Words cannot describe how bad it is. Trust me.

Anything else?:

NO REALLY IT'S BAD. THIS DIDN'T HAPPEN IN THE BOOKS.

Only doing Eleven's run things!

[personal profile] makeherblue 2011-08-20 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
Character: The Doctor
Canon: Doctor Who

Spoilers in things I'm linking

Interesting things about the character:
- He's a 900 (give or take) old alien. Time Lord, in fact.
- Bowties are indeed cool. So are cravats, checkered pants, rainbow coats, and the list goes on: just be rest assured that if he's ever worn it, it's got tons of cool points.
- He requires absolute silence when he's in thinking mode
- He's a coward. But he generally cowards and adventures in the right direction. He also has the eerie habit of somehow giving things a "nudge" - this is either played up as funny or manipulative, depending on the Doctor.
- Aliens trespassing on Earth. Don't worry, he'll give you a good scolding.
- He's rather good with children. As in he tends to treat them as mini adult humans. Also apparently he will roll into your house and help yourself to your food.
- Better hope he doesn't need to do a fast mind meld on you. It's rather...unconventional
- He has fabulous hair. This is almost a requirement for being a Doctor. Except Nine. But he had a leather jacket and that's a-okay.
- Big chin? It's like a diving rod, it sniffs out ~adventure~.
- Nervous about traveling in the TARDIS? Don't worry, he's worked out the perfect way to reassure you.
- That said, he doesn't have the perfect temper around humans and their weaknesses, especially when he himself is under pressure and about to do something he's not cool with .
- When he dies in certain ways, he can explode into Time Lord sparkles (thanks for that...telling description, Rory). In other words, Time Lords can try to save themselves by shifting into another body and another personality that is still the same man. Eleven has to do it in style and regenerate to find himself crash-landing. Because that's just how he rolls.
- The Doctor has friends across time and space, so according to him, he's on the bowling team with Virgina Woolf. And he got married to Marylin Monroe, but that doesn't count.
- He comes across as very eccentric to most humans, who end up getting swept along with him because he talks so fast and flashes his psychic paper around he doesn't give them a chance to react.
- The Doctor loves a good wedding. And dancing. And generally having fun.
- He's not a high achiever academically. Back on Gallifrey, he had low scores.
- He lies about his age.
- In fact, he lies about a lot of things.
- He's a lot of fun to be around, until it sinks in just how dangerous life with him is. But on the flip side, you get Space Florida!

Interesting things about the canon/fandom:
- The canon has been present since the 1960s. It did have a break between Seven's run in the 1980s to the revival in 2005 (Nine's run). There was a Doctor Who television movie, but let's not talk about that.
- Eleven actors have played the Doctor. Matt Smith is currently the youngest, the previous one had been Peter Davidson with Five.
- Because of the style of the show, you could in theory have it go on forever just by cycling out the Doctor/companion actors and actresses, and it would still be Doctor Who.
- Going to ninja this in but Jamie McCrimmon, played by Beth, is the longest serving male companion on Doctor Who. I think also companions overall?
makeherblue: (Default)

Re: Only doing Eleven's run things!

[personal profile] makeherblue 2011-08-20 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
- The canon is really all over the place if you take in the stuff outside the TV show.
- You won't really see Nine-Ten-Eleven in audio dramas like the classic Doctors. Big Finish can only use One-Eight. Which is really unfortunate because...
- Six has a companion who is a noir detective penguin. Actually he's a shapeshifter, but let's go with detective penguin.
- The current Doctor actor, Matt Smith, wrote fanfiction with the Doctor to help him get into character. He wrote about traveling with Einstein as a companion.
- He's also said he'd like a story where the Eleventh Doctor visits dinosaurs...and picks up Frank Sinatra on the way.
- They've been using variations of the same theme song since the 60s. The logos haven't been quite as consistent. The best is probably the terribly shiny 80s one.

Anything else?:
Doctors are weird. And cool. But mostly weird.

They also love comfy shoes

They don't protest against Scots clinging to them.

They do love dancing. And making faces.

Beyblade

[identity profile] radiantcourage.livejournal.com 2011-08-20 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
Character: Hikari Hoshi. Y'all know at this point that she's an OC.
Canon: Beyblade, or more conveniently, that animanga that features spinning tops.

Interesting things about the character:
- Hoshi's father is in the military! He's a decorated major general to the JGSDF (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JGSDF) and has helped her to become the person she is today.
- She loves little kids. If you're under the age of, like, twelve, you're gonna have her tag along with you. And possibly dote on you because she is like that.
- She found her teammates through helping them and in return, they gave her their unwavering loyalty.
- Back home, she knows a guy who goes by the name of Pops. When BEGA went "NO YOU CAN'T HAVE PARTS BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT US!" to Team BBA, Hoshi called him up and Team BBA had their parts again since Pops is like a Japanese Robin Hood.
- She tends to not give up with things, even when it seems futile. She also believes the best to come out of people and wants to make people feel comfortable around her.
Interesting things about the canon/fandom:

WELL, you have moments like this (http://29.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lp6c05S98v1ql914ko1_r1_500.png). Why? Because Takao is a derp. :B He's also the main character, too! His holy beast is Seiryuu, an ancient wind dragon.

Takao's rival is none other than Hiwatari Kai (http://26.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lm7swgyeKW1qcdgnto1_500.gif). Look at that fine kid, doesn't he look fab? He wields Suzaku, the legendary phoenix! And he's also... grumpy. Very grumpy. Unless if you are a fuzzball of a cat or a kid who's looking to be a beyblader.

And then you have this guy (http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lpycr3nypV1qbe5du.gif) named Max Mizuhara who has both American and Japanese heritage in him. He loves to put mayo on his noodles for some reason. :|a His holy beast is Genbu, a water turtle.

Finally, for our beybladers, there is the resident pretty boy named Rei Kon (http://30.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lpw66sX1KU1qkoglso1_500.gif). His holy beast is Byakko, a lightning tiger! Annnd he comes from China and is a ninja or something cool like that.

Through the power of , their world was saved thanks to the Powerpuff Girls Takao saying that he wanted to help Brooklyn and there were some pretty amazing people (sans Volkov/Boris and some other dudes) (http://cybertigeranime.com/bbspirit/index3.php?bbcharacters) that wanted to help him out. You know, Defeat Means Friendship and all.

Your emotions help make your holy beast stronger! The more you feed into it, the more powerful it becomes! And beyblades are customizable to hell, too.

And there's plenty of Large Ham moments. Come on, it's a shonen series. What else would you expect from it?

There's also some (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOAn-CeGoRE) kickass (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fd9-IjQpE-4&feature=related) dub (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23EtnSsUm6I&feature=related) tracks (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7muzlOrbDu8&feature=related). This doesn't mean that the original music pales in comparison, though! There is Go Ahead (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnXcHvZGyGs), Kaze no Fuku Basho (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quYEnDFnWpE), Sign of Wish (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7oK1kFB1aJg&feature=related), Victoria (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-QcnJ9jMduI) and more here (http://www.youtube.com/user/windpower#p/u)!

Pretty much, it's an amazing series. ♥ You can watch it right here (http://www.veoh.com/watch/v604470bwZpP2yF?h1=Beyblade+Episode+1+-+The+Blade+Raider)!

RESIDENT GODDAMN EVIL

[identity profile] boulderkiller.livejournal.com 2011-08-20 05:15 am (UTC)(link)
AKA GG fills out one post for 75% of her characters!

Character: Chris Redfield
Canon: Resident Evil

Interesting things about the character:
- He is six years older than his sister Claire. The Redfields' parents were confirmed to have been killed in a car accident. Chris at least partially raised her.
- A former Air Force pilot, Chris was kicked out for reasons never really explained. Everybody's got their own theories, though mine involves his apparent inability to respect authority when it clashes with his Boy Scout Superman Hero Guy outlook on life.
- He has also been a police officer and a special operative for at least two different agencies. Every group he works for seems to get brutally murdered by zombies and shit.
- He spent a few months as a drifter and probably grew a really sweet beard.
- The original male protagonist of the RE series, he's also the star of Resident Evils Code Veronica and 5.
- Chris' best friend is his original partner, Jill Valentine. He has a tendency to be partnered up with improbably young, attractive women, including B.S.A.A. West Africa Agent Sheva Alomar, and in the upcoming Revelations, some chick named Jessica who wears a dumb hat and seems to be a whiny bitch.
- He is an expert at pretty much every modern type of firearm. Chris was the top marksman in S.T.A.R.S. and won a trophy to attest as much, stealing the title from his close friend Forrest Speyer. (Forrest was later eaten by zombie crows.)
- Visiting his junk-covered desk in RE2 and 3 provides evidence that he did very little real, actual work during his stint as a police officer.
- I'm really not kidding about the boulder thing. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xuXkVzBdJQ)

Character: Luis Sera
Canon: Biohazard

Interesting things about the character:
- His only appearance is in Resident Evil 4, where he actually has about seven collective minutes of screentime before he dies horribly. You spend the rest of the game reading his nerdy science memos.
- Luis claims to be a former police officer when you meet him, and his skill at marksmanship seems to back this up-- he is absolutely full of shit, though.
- He uses a sweet Red9 pistol, which IS the best freakin' handgun in the game.
- He willingly worked for Los Illuminados, a religious cult/terrorist organization bent on taking over the world with a creepy parasite calls Las Plagas. How much he knew about their goings-on is left ambiguous, but Luis blames himself completely for his actions and has a MAJOR guilt complex about it. He was also accidentally in league with Wesker, though he was only trying to save his own ass at the time.
- Most of his in-game research involves parasitic creatures that control their hosts, and Ada refers to him as a "brilliant scientist." So yeah. He's pretty good.
- His inventions include an anti-Plaga medication and a laser that can destroy maturing Plagas from inside the body without killing the host. Said laser was somehow weaponized, which was probably also Luis' doing.
- He also claims to be a ladies' man, but seeing as he strikes out horribly with both Ashley and Ada, this claim is very skeptical.
- When you first meet him in the game, he's bound and gagged in a locked wardrobe in an abandoned house after being on the run from the cult for several days. That's why his hair looks so greasy.
- This is why he's afraid of tentacles. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJ58KB9kPRM)

RESIDENT GODDAMN EVIL PART TWO

[personal profile] craaazyisland 2011-08-20 05:17 am (UTC)(link)
Character: Steve Burnside
Canon: Silent Hill (just kidding, it's Resident Evil)

Interesting things about the character:
- Steve only appears in one game, Resident Evil: Code Veronica. His current icons are from the graphical overhaul recap of the game in Darkside Chronicles.
- Steve is actually one of the most widely-hated characters in the fandom due to his angsty personality, his bratty behavior and the fact that his original voice actor might be the worst voice actor in a series rife with bad voice acting. On the flip side, though, he has a lot of frothing teenage fangirls. His Darkside incarnation had a much better VA, luckily.
- So why is Steve so goddamn moody? Steve's father was an Umbrella scientist who tried to make quick cash by selling company data on the black market. In retaliation, Umbrella stormed the family's house, shot Steve's mother to death and arrested 17-year-old Steve and his father to ship them off to their private offshore gulag, Rockfort Island. There, after months of subhuman treatment in what amounts to a concentration camp, they're slated to be tortured to death and/or used in horrific viral experiments.

Umbrella Human Resources takes employee loyalty very, very seriously.
- Steve and Claire were the only prisoners to survive Wesker's bombing of Rockfort Island and the subsequent T-virus outbreak. Steve's father turned into a zombie and Steve was forced to kill him.
- Somehow, in a bizarre plot twist that's left completely unexplained, Steve proves to be capable of flying a cargo plane all by himself.
- At 17, he's the youngest playable RE character capable of defending themselves. (Sherry is the real youngest, but she's defenseless.)
- Steve died at Umbrella's Antarctic base after he and Claire were captured by lunatic psychobitch Alexia Ashford. She injected him with her custom virus, T-Veronica, which then went haywire, mutating Steve into a Tyrant. He managed to regain control over himself, but the strain on his body (and being impaled through the stomach) killed him.
- Wesker stole Steve's body to use as his personal source of T-Veronica, which pops up four years later in South America.
- In Darkside Chronicles, Steve has an amusing tendency to break the fourth wall, probably because he's doomed to die anyway, so he can get away with it.
- Steve is apparently an ass man.

Interesting things about the canon/fandom: CAPSLOCK EDITION
(ahem)
- SURVIVAL HORROR BITCHES! THIS GAME IS THE GRANDDADDY OF THEM ALL! ZOMBIES! MONSTERS! SCARY MUTANT THINGS THAT POP OUT AT YOU! SHOOT 'EM IN THE FACE! SHIT, SON, YOU'RE GONNA NEED A BIGGER GUN!
- THERE'S LIKE SEVEN GAMES ALREADY AND A BUNCH OF SPINOFFS (some of which kind of suck) BUT THEY'RE ON ALL KINDS OF PLATFORMS! PLAY THAT SHIT!
- HOT CHICKS! YEAH, THAT'S EVERY VIDEO GAME BUT HEY LADIES AND GAY MEN! LOOK AT THESE SEXY BASTARDS! THEY'RE YOUR PLAYABLE CHARACTERS! GET A LOAD OF THAT BEEFCAKE! THOSE HUNKS OF MANLY ARE GODDAMN BADASSES! I COULD STARE AT THE BACK OF THEM FOR A FEW HOURS WHILE I BLOW SHIT UP, HOW ABOUT YOU?
- THIS STORYLINE IS COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS! IT DOUBLES AS A COMEDY! HOW CAN YOU BE TOO SCARED TO PLAY WHEN YOU'RE LAUGHING YOUR ASS OFF!

Anything else?:
If you play it, you'll finally get this classic video.
